Condom mishap during fertile days… chances of getting pregnant?

Hi all

Saturday 22nd dp and I used a condom which after we realised had split and it did, sorry for tmi, leak… I just so happened to be in my fertile days when this happened, about 3 days before I ovulated (I track OV now to keep an eye on my cycles as we use natural family planning leading up to and during period.
Sadly I had a MC in my last cycle, as I didn’t realise I usually ovulate pretty much straight after my period) I OVd later this cycle due to MC. Please no unkind words, we’ve decided to ditch the NFP until we want to start trying.

the other day at 5dpo I got a sudden electric shock type sensation in my uterus that took me by surprise. It happened again later that evening. Last night 6dpo I didn’t sleep well and was woken up by mild cramps… I’m wondering if this could have been implantation??

what do you think is the possibility of me being pregnant given all of this? Even though we’re not actively trying it would definitely be a happy surprise

Well it is possible, as the condom split at your fertile time. Did it have spermicide ? Because that makes it less likely but not impossible.

MaddyTK · 08/11/2022 21:05

nope, no spermicide

Possible. But not super likely. Even if you and your partner are super fertile, the chance of conception for any one month, with perfect ovulation coverage is 1 in 3 to 1 in 4. So much more likely no than yes. Good luck with TTC OP x

How old are you? If you are in your 20s much more likely than in your late 40s, I would venture

She's turns 26 soon and I took MAP after the condom mishap.

I’m 32, so I do wonder what the chances are given my age

Quick update … today more mild cramping and a very small amount of brown discharge. I’m starting to wonder if this could actually be implantation bleeding/discharge for a new pregnancy… I’m not testing because I know it’s far too early. Feeling quite frustrated 🙃

Did you test again @MaddyTK?

Did you test again @MaddyTK?

I started my first post MC period Sunday just gone, exactly 4 weeks after the MC started. I tested that day before I started bleeding because I was pretty sure I could have been pg. of course it was negative. The bleeding has been very heavy and a lot of clots. That, along with the spotting in between, I’ve since found out, is very typical after having a MC. I’ll never be symptom spotting again even when we do TTC because it just goes to show that the only way to tell is a + HTP and I’d only drive myself mad otherwise! Best of luck x
