Worried after 5 week scan - sac but no yolk

Hi!

I had an early scan (previous issues) yesterday thinking i was 6 weeks but apparently looks like i'm just 5 weeks 3 days. They saw a "probable" gestation sac but no yolk sac or heartbeat. I had to have bloods taken and have to have them taken again in 48 hours to make sure my hormone levels are doubling.

I'm really worried - has anyone experienced anything similar before?

I haven’t but it sounds really early for a scan to be able to have anything there to show, especially a heartbeat. I would wait and see what’s there between 7 and 8 weeks. Hope all is okay

I haven't had this issue personally but I read a post yesterday on this exact topic. Someone was saying if you Google this issue it will say your meant to see sac and yolk but loads of women were commenting that they didn't at all and it wasn't until 6+ weeks that things became more visible. One lady said she worked in a private scan clinic and the reason they don't do reassurance scans until six weeks is because before that things are very difficult to see.

Don't worry, the stress won't help, at least they saw something

By my dates I’m possibly around 5-6 weeks, not exactly sure as my cycle dates fluctuate between 28-34 days.
Positive tests and stronger each day. Had an ectopic in January so called early pregnancy unit to check and they asked me to come in for a scan.

they have classed it as a pregnancy of unknown location - she said there is a possible pregnancy but she cannot determine for sure everything is okay. She took bloods and I have to go back in 48 hours to have bloods again so they can monitor hcg. She didn’t seem concerned and I’m probably more confused why they said it’s a pregnancy of unknown location. This is my first possible viable pregnancy so unsure what a scan should look like at this stage? Has anyone had a scan similar and can share their experience. I thought I was 6 weeks but recalculating dates I’m possibly only 5
