Can OPKs really show positive for pregnancy? What’s your experience?

Hey everyone

i have short cycles of 24-25 days., according to Flo and health app I should now be 8dpo, on cycle day 17. . I have had a heavy feeling low down since yesterday, with very mild cramps where my uterus is today. I randomly did an OPK today which came back a very strong positive.

I’m pretty sure I’m not ovulating as it’s so late in my cycle and my usual ovulation cramps are nothing like this. I did a cheapie hpt but it was negative which I expected as it’s so early on in terms of testing. if it’s implantation the dates would actually match up.

has anyone had any experience with positive OPK’s, possible implantation cramps and been pregnant?

thank you

To add I believe I usually ovulate pretty soon after my period has ended. About cycle day 8

Take a pregnancy test. When I was TTC DC1 I got a bit over enthusiastic taking pregnancy tests. I was running low so peed on an OPK instead and it was really positive. It seemed odd so I googled and it said pregnancy can show up as a positive OPK. Did a pregnancy test and yep, DC1!

Sorry that should have been another pregnancy test. Maybe wait a few days. Although who am I kidding I'd be testing every day so I understand how you feel. Good luck

This morning the OPK was fainter than yesterday, so I’m assuming negative. I’ve got EWCM now. I’m so confused. I did do another cheapie HPT but negative, as expected. It’s still very early so I think I’ll just have to wait it out.

After seeing a few of these kinds of posts I tested it myself once I was pregnant. I'd say the OPKs were kind of dark (but mine get quite dark anyway) not a positive until I was a few days passed my missed period. Apparently LH surges before a period too.

I wish ladies would stop using them to see if they're pregnant or not, it just causes more confusion that it's worth! X
