Bit of a surprise...

I had a miscarriage in late August. I've had some symptoms so I took a test. It's a clear blue digital and says 3 weeks plus. I have a small noticeable bump. It wasn't obvious to me because I'm slightly overweight. Have lost track of periods because I didn't conceive for 7 years and thought I was infertile. If it says three plus weeks, how pregnant would I be? In a tizz.

If it says 3+ weeks it could be anything over 3 weeks since conception or over 5 weeks pregnant (they count it from first day of last period not from conception). Basically you’re 5 or more weeks pregnant. The latest date they give is 3+ weeks from conception. Or it was 8 years ago when I tested with my daughter when I found out I was pregnant at nearly 7 weeks.

I think you should get an early scan done to try and date it if possible.

congratulations 😊

Thanks! I'm 41 so didn't expect it. Last had a bleed in September. Had a scan in the hospital to establish miscarriage at the time of the miscarriage in August. Almost wondering if they made a mistake. Happy but shocked and nervous.

If you had a bleed in September that was likely your last period or implantation bleed maybe. Definitely contact your local midwife team for a booking in appointment and when you call explain you last had a bleed in September but not sure what the bleed was or how far along you are

Not everyone has a period after a miscarriage before they get pregnant again

Thanks guys. It was a light bleed.
