Drank in TWW and worried

Thanks in advance for reading this!

My husband and I recently went away for a few days for a belated honeymoon break and I must admit I drank a few beers or wines on 3 of the days (maybe max 4).

I came back and though my period isn't due until Wednesday I felt odd (boobs more sore than usual) and tested a faint positive. I calculate that I'm just under 4 weeks.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I'm just a little concerned

Thanks a lot

I got hammered the night before I realised i might be pregnant with DD2. She is now a smart 24 yo with a first class degree and a great job! I think if it is early on then there is no damage as it is just a ball of cells rather than a foetus.

There are thousands (millions probably) of women who have drunk before they knew they were pregnant. You are, in the nicest possible way, overthinking this.
Good luck with your pregnancy Smile

Thanks for this - congratulations on your DD's success

Thanks! I know I probably am and appreciate the reassurance. We miscarried before and I think it's just bringing up bad memories!

Drank a bottle of wine before finding out about one pregnancy and had been on an all day bender that went on to the wee small hours the day before I found out about another. Smoked like a chimney too. Stopped everything as soon as I found out and my kids were fine.

Please don't worry ... I was not planning to get pregnant, had no symptoms (was of menopause age!) until 10 weeks and I had been drinking wine regularly during that time .. no effects whatsoever.

Ihavekids · 23/10/2022 18:44

At this stage the placenta is not developed or taking anything from your bloodstream. It's just a ball of cells. It's fine. Good luck and congratulations!

I got so drunk the first time before I knew I was pregnant and got trampled on at a gig in a mosh circle 😂 didn’t harm him. Not touched a drop whilst TTC this time and had two early miscarriages 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am in the exact same position as you but I am almost 5 weeks now. Had the equivalent to one large glass of wine over the course of two days at 8 and 9 dpo and I have been worrying like crazy too. I have been in contact with lots of different people who have also drunk before realising and also medical professionals and everyone has said to not worry at all. I am slowly beginning to realise it’s very common ( I made a poll on peanut and 70% said yes to drinking before they realised). I am hoping our bodies have a natural way of protecting until a missed period! Have you been able to relax a bit more regarding this?

Sorry! I thought I posted this as my own post, not sure how to delete 🤔

I got plastered the week before I found out I was pregnant with my only. I tested 2-3 weeks so was definitely pregnant. She's now 9 and perfect.

I'm in the same situation. Drank a lot at my Xmas party (I don't normally drink but decided to let.my hair down) feel absolutely awful and so guilty.
