How to log spotting or periods

TTC for 5 months.
I've noticed that I consistently have a very light brown discharge 1-3 days before my period fully starts. I'm using Flo and unsure if I should log the brown dc as spotting or day 1 of AF?
This is quite significant because if I count day 1 of spotting as my period starting, this makes my luteal phase only 8-10 days. If I record it as spotting, it makes my luteal phase slightly longer (10-12 days).
Thank you.

As previous poster said, it sounds like you know the difference between your spotting and full flow, and so you’re right to log CD1 as full flow.

I have spotting too. Took me a few months to figure it out as well!
