My husband and I are 37 and after many years of back and forth discussion about whether parenthood is for us, we have decided to seriously try for a baby.

Of course I'm worried we've left it too late and also my cycle is quite long (about 6 weeks) which worries me.

I had a feeling that I may be about to ovulate to picked up a clear blue opk. I used it last night and got a static smiley (yay!). My husband was out last night so we only dtd this morning.

I used the opk a couple of hours after and it was back to a blank circle. Does this mean I have already ovulated? We are wondering whether to dtd tonight too. Basically what I am asking is does the smiley face show you that you are about to ovulate and show a blank circle when you actually are ovulating?

Any other tips? I am taking folic acid and hubby also has some vitamins that are supposed to help sperm circulation.

Excited to start this journey but concerned that we do not have much time left!

Good Sign that you got a static smiley! You likely ovulate anywhere from 24 - 48hrs after the LH surge, which causes the static smiley. Sounds like you’ve timed it just right :) fingers crossed xxx
