Is this a sign of a miscarriage?

Would love advice: I am still once a morning breastfeeding my 16 month old, so I know periods can be irregular… I’ve had my period back for 6 months now, it was about 40 days apart but for the past two months settled to about 30 days apart. Today my period has arrived after 21 days. We have not been using contraception. Could such a short time between periods be a sign of a miscarriage? We are hoping to conceive again and I wonder whether such a sudden period arriving is something I should go to my gynaecologist about…

At 21 days an embryo would barely be implanting, so no, it doesn't sound like a miscarriage. It just sounds like your cycle is still settling down as you reduce breastfeeding.
