Is a 12 day luteal phase short?

Just wondering if anyone has had any trouble conceiving with a 12 day luteal phase? I seem to have 31 day(ish) cycle and ovulate on day 19 but I spot from day 27 which is new. TTC #2 and my first (1 year old) was conceived the first month of just not being careful so no idea when I ovulated etc. The spotting for so many days beforehand is new since periods became regular 4/5 months after giving birth. Not used any hormonal contraception for 8+ years.

Does anyone know what can I do to lengthen the luteal phase or to stop the spotting at 8dpo?

Thanks!

Spotting before your period is quite common and isn't necessarily a sign of something wrong.

It also doesn't shorted your LP and 12 days is a fine length as it's over 10 days.

I've always spotted before periods but loads of tests etc have confirmed it was either due to just me or my cervical ectropion. Neither of which should have stopped me getting pregnant.

Hi @Twizbe thanks for that. Suppose could be my new normal and just a bit down beat that TTC#2 is taking longer / more effort than #1
