im flying on 8 flights in the next couple of weeks to Australia etc and was wondering whether this can bring on early miscarriage? I have to get a speed boat in one of the countries as a transfer but I’m panicking but I’ll only be 2 weeks

You can’t be only 2 weeks when you even just find out with a missed period you’re already 4 weeks by how it’s calculated. Flying doesn’t cause miscarriage, think logically, how could it? Speedboat probably not ideal but tbh I’d go on it, again I can’t see any logical reason not to at what I’m assuming it’s actually about 6-7 weeks pregnant.

Speedboat- sit right at the back=less abrupt movement from the waves.

@Garman Im so stupid ignore me, meant to write that haha. I’m going off what I am today! I think because it’s so many flights and long haul I’m panicking!

But you’re not 2 weeks pregnant today, from the start/earliest positive test you’re 4 weeks? There’s absolutely no point panicking, what do you think flying or long haul flying can do exactly?

AquaticSewingMachine · 21/09/2022 19:17

There's literally no such thing as "two weeks pregnant". Two weeks pregnant is when you have sex; sperm hasn't even met egg at that stage.

In any case, travel doesn't cause miscarriage and neither do speedboats, or no pregnancy would ever succeed.

I’m just overthinking and panicking about everything! Thanks all!

Hi op @Magicwells

i know i commented on your previous post regarding this, the flying etc doesn’t increase miscarriage BUT your destinations I.e Singapore and any others including Maldives and other Indonesia / Asian countries all carry the risk of ZIKA which can cause birth defects and the NHS guidance is to postpone travel to these areas or have safe sex for 3 months after leaving the risk areas.

I went to Florida and didn't know I was pregnant. Was on all the rollercoasters, done a 10 hour flight there and back. Was all good 😁

Hi OP, I saw your other post this morning about OPKs and TTC. If you're stopping off in Asia on route, you might want to look in to Zika. NHS guidance is to avoid Zika risk countries if TTC or not to TTC for three months after you return.
