I'm just wondering if anyone has been in similar situation, my daughter is now 5 months and I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant. I was only ever advised not to have sex or become pregnant within the 6 weeks of my c section recovery. I am not worried with what I'm reading on Google has anyone fell pregnant within the 4/5 months of having baby

Lots of women do. What are you worried about?

Jadesx · 15/09/2022 21:16

I've seen that you need to wait at least 18 months after having a c section. I wasn't made aware it's because of uterus rupture I think that's why I'm worried xx @WingBingo

Lots of women get pregnant again in less than that time frame after a c section (myself included) and have an uneventful pregnancy and birth.
Try not to worry.

I gave birth to second when first was 18 months old and only found out afterwards that there was a risk. No-one ever told me of the risk. Second ds was born prematurely but there was never any suggestion that this was because of the closeness of births.

I was told to wait 12 months but 18 was best, but they said if it happened sooner they will manage it

What do you think she's worried about?? Use your brain.

I've got a 12 month gap between DC1 & DC2. Both c sections and had no issues at all.

Please speak to your midwife who will be able to reassure you.

Jadesx · 24/09/2022 23:56

@chocolateoranges33 thank you so much my age gap will be the same 12 months

@Jadesx no worries. I had no problems at all and the planned 2nd c section was much better than the first (emergency). Much more chilled and I was up and walking within 4 hours as I knew what to expect. Recovery was much quicker too.

I've since had DC3, another planned c section, and it was fantastic. Driving within 2 weeks and no issues at all.

Please speak to your midwife as she can reassure you as its not all doom & gloom. Good luck x

Hi 😊 , im in the same position right now, I had 2nd baby via elective c section alittle less then 4 months ago, and now im pregnant again, how was your pregnancy, recovery and baby ? Is it as scary as I think ? or am I just overthrowing and worried to much.

I'm not sure what you're asking, OP. Are you considering a termination?
If not, then there's nothing you can do about it, other than rest, eat well, exercise moderately and take advice from your GP.
Hope all goes well for you.

I would say Amanda Holden is a good example of why people can be worried. The placenta can stick to the scar tissue and cause rupture. However, this is very rare and if the doctors aren't a worried, then I wouldn't be either. Congratulations!

Yes of course. I know quite a few people who got pregnant within first few months. My friend conceived on her 3rd month after having her dd. This was 5 years ago but i clearly remember she only gave birth to her that September ( 21) and then that Christmas eve. she announced she was pregnant again. I also had an appointment yesterday at my gynae clinic which is also a womens health department so has pregnancy clinics ect and the girl sitting beside me was 5 month pregnant and she said her baby was only 7 months !
