No cervical mucus for past couple of months - why?!

Hi!

Been trying to conceive for approx 8 months with no luck. I've always known when I ovulate due to cervical mucus which I've recently confirmed with ovulation kits.

The past two months I've had no cervical mucus...

This has terrified me that there's now something wrong with my ovaries or even more of a fertility barrier in addition to my untreated endometriosis.

My life is also fairly stressful (I'm a total worry wart which impacts my daily life!) and my diet is quite restrictive due to a limited diet (not an eating disorder but I have 'disordered eating'). I tend to eat quite a bit of sugar and sugar free caffeinated drinks. Weight is normal.

Can somebody help me please as im terrified by the change.

Thank you!!

How do you check your CM?

This may be TMI, but I only notice EWCM if I get right up in there and notice it around the cervix. If I didn't do that I wouldn't notice any difference.

Just FYI, a positive OPK doesn't confirm ovulation, you would need to do BBT or a blood test or a scan to confirm if you have ovulated.

Try drinking lots of grapefruit juice from CD1 until ovulation. Thus had a crazy effect for me!
(Or some people take evening primrose oil)

Have you tried BBT? OPKs are only an indication of ovulation, but you can get positive OPKs without ovulating.

Have you had a think about what changes you could make to your diet which might improve your chances of conceiving? I appreciate any chances you can make might be limited, but may be worth considering. Caffeine for example, particularly in moderate-high amounts, can impact on your fertility e.g. make it harder for a fertilised egg to implant.

Preseed lube!

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions - I've not heard of some so it's definitely something to look into!

@Regenbogen22
Never heard of either of these being used so will def look into them!

@Algor1thm
No I've never tracked my BBT - I bought the kit but haven't used it 😳
My diet is high in caffeine - especially carbonated drinks...

@happygolucky42

My husband is allergic to preseed!! 💔 used it a few times and fair to say... never again 😳😳

@malfoydracomalfoy I really recommend tracking BBT, it's really helped me to pinpoint my ovulation. Maybe see if you could cut down on caffeine, especially in the TWW to increase your chances of implantation? Caffeine free coke?

malfoydracomalfoy · 14/09/2022 22:28

@Algor1thm

I'll try it :) I do wonder if I do miss my time sometimes - i feel like I limit it. But also with me having untreated endometriosis (which I know is severe) it's also got to be having some impact.

Thank you so much for your help :)
