TTC 18 months, in need of hope

Me and my partner have been trying since March 2021 for a baby. We have tried pregnacare, sevenseas, SMEP, preseed, conceive plus librant, conceive plus ovulation support, various cocktails of tablets, cough medicine, red raspberry leaf tea, castor oil packs, no alcohol, I've lost 9kg in weight, no caffeine, you name it, we have tried it.
I have had tests showing that I ovulate, I can feel ovulation too, my bloods are fine, I have a fitbit that shows my heart rate going up during ovulation and dipping when I come on my period every month, my periods are super regular.
We are waiting to have my partners SA done, it was meant to be this week but he had an accident (quite a bad one!) so it was rearranged.
I was suspect I have endo as I have very painful periods, deep painful sex in some positions and pain when passing stools during my period. I am currently on the waiting list to have endo looked into and they said I could have the HSG at the same time to see if my tubes are blocked.
I'm just looking for some hope really. Anybody out there who tried for nearly 2 years and it happened naturally?

Hello there I am sorry you are feeling disheartened, quite understandably. There are lots of stories of ladies falling pregnant naturally after 2 years and even longer a couple of which I read about recently here on mumsnet.
My sister in law had her baby at 34 after trying for 6 years. Even ivf didn't work and she was fit and relatively young. She's now conceived her second child and is due in October.
I think its great your getting your partner checked out and you too. Let us know how you get on x

Hi @jadebz10 I just wanted to say I know what you’re going through. We have been trying for 2 years now and nothing. Tests all clear so far. AF just arrived and feel v disheartened today.
I do have friends though who tried for 2.5 years and then got pregnant. They’ve just conceived number 2 the first month of trying!

Thank you for your replies!
@AlleycatMarie im sorry to hear about your AF! Is this your first child you are trying for?
It is heartbreaking, especially when some friends and family get it so easy.
My best friend has not long found out she is pregnant, and although I'm jealous, I couldn't be happier for her. She has had two MC in the past and she's been trying since her last MC in March 2020, albeit not every month but she was still trying.

Not sure about you but some days I can be really hopeful, whereas other days I can be so down.
I did, however, read a post on MN the other day of a lady who was trying for 18 months and her doctor told her she had a tipped uterus so try lying on her belly instead of her back. I'm pretty sure there may be something wrong with my uterus and I know endo can pull a uterus back (if I have endo) so I am going to be trying that next cycle! Anything is worth trying isn't it.

@jadebz10 it’s so hard when friends get pregnant; I was over the moon for my best friend last year, but gutted for me at the same time.

Yes, trying for number 1 - how about you??

That's so interesting about the lying on the belly thing, because I also have a tilted uterus and haven’t heard that before. I’m definitely going to give it a go!! I also wonder about endo because I have always had painful periods. I bought a fertility cup and tried that last month. Will give it a go for a few more months and see if that helps at all.

Where abouts in your cycle are you?

We started August 2019 and got our positive test March 2021, it was such a long wait and I was going a little bit crazy. We had fertility tests done which didn’t show anything up. It was just after the fertility test results that we conceived. I stopped thinking about it and that’s when it happened. Our daughter is almost 10 months old.

A friend was trying for around the same amount of time and is due her baby shortly before Christmas. Someone else we know tried for 18 months and also conceived naturally.

Hello 😊

Still no luck. My partner has severely low sperm, with all round low figures (although we have gone from 680k per ML to 2.9million per ML it's still very low). However, after nearly 4 years and nearly 3 stone in weight loss, we have our first NHS appointment on Tuesday! 😁

We are!! Coming up to a year and losing the will a bit! Hubby has low count and I’ve got pcos! We’re looking to start ICSI in the new year as I think we just have to push on with it for our sanity! 🩵

Fingers crossed 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
