TSH levels of 2.8 is this OK?

Two chemical pregnancies in last 3 months
Just had a blood test and my TSH is 2.86

I've read that it really should be under 2.5 while TTC

Anyone have any advice on this?

Sorry to hear about your experiences with chemical pregnancies :(
At a recent blood test my TSH measured similar to yours at 2.85 but my dr dismissed it as normal.
Did you receive any advice or learn how to normalise this?

Hi @UserL95

I really pushed and my doctor is now medicating me with levothyroxine.

My TSH is now 2.6 so slowly decreasing and I'm going to ask on Monday to up my dose as we are TTC again.

are you TTC?

I believe normal range Tsh is 0-5 with 0 being optimum.

Really hope all goes well for you 💐

@Youweremybrotheranakin yes it is normal for day to day life, but not optimal when TTC.

To TTC it should be under 2 is my understanding. I will never know why I've miscarried twice but do wonder if this was a factor.

Mine seems to be on the lower end of normal - in fact it’s slightly under the ‘green’ range at 0.22. I have no idea what it means!

Hi, I have hypothyroidism. When i was pregnant with my son I was referred to a consultant in the hospital. She adjusted my Eltroxin dose to get my TSH under 2.5. She said it was important to keep it under 2.5 for the duration of the pregnancy.

@blueberry23 yes TTC and have been for around 8/9 months now, and 5 months quite consciously! I might ask for repeat bloods and if it is still high see if I can convince dr to medicate although dr was against this to start with , not that they told me why
