~Hi ladies, myself and my darling other half have been trying for a baby for the last 3 yrs and have every test under the sun done to us and the docs verdict is that my hormone levels are low so he has put me on 50mg of climid days2-7. i've just finished my first lot of tablets and would really really love to hear some success stories to get a little bit of hope built up again, cause at the moment we fairly pesimistic, so anyone at all with a success story or anyone in the same situation, i would love to hear from ya's all, thanks :O :O

Hi Piper. Not a personal story but one that produced my darling nephew so I feel entitled to use it! My sister-in-law had pcos and hormone problems so was put on clomid. She conceived about 6 months into the treatment. Her ds was born in August.

I wish you every success and happiness.

Pinkali37 · 21/01/2008 14:04

Piper1984, may i ask why you are on it? I'm also on it.. think it's desperation from my dr and colnsultant though. I'm on 50 mg for first 3 months then following each 21 day blood test, if it shows not ovulating am being put up to 100mg for 3 months. Then possibly another op (I have severe endometriosis). x

coggy · 21/01/2008 18:24

Piper....my DS was an 'after clomid' baby.
I had it for three months, took a break and along he came!

We were trying for just under 5 years so there is hope!!

Hope it all works well for you and your DH.

piper1984 · 22/01/2008 17:55

Hi Pinkali37, My Doc decided to put me on it because my hormone levels were low, so hopefully it will wrok, i'm only on it a couple of days so far x

Just telephoned Doctors for blood result and apparently it is at 1.0 NOT GOOD. Does anyone think this could be becaus eit was actually day 20 and my cycles even on clomid are around 33days? HELP feeling really low

piper1984 · 25/01/2008 22:38

hey pinkali37,

i not sure how the hormone testing works on clomid, i normally ovulate on day 18, but this month on clomid it was on day 15 so you'd think i'd get the hormone tests 3 days earlier but know the doc said day 21 still, so i donno, the only thing i can say is if yiur still not ovulating and your hormone levels are low then he'll prob put you on a stronger dose which will hopefully do the trick, be positive

If you haven't already I would ask your GP to refer you to a gynae for further evaluation. This sort of thing can require specialist treatment (A GP for instance cannot monitor you and you should be monitored whilst on clomid as a matter of course). Also your man should be tested to see if there are any male factor problems.

Sounds like the clomid is not quite doing its job. My guess is that even with the clomid you did not ovulate this month. Its actually quite common.

Do you have a diagnosis of the underlying problem?. You should have a diagnosis too.

Pinkali37 · 28/01/2008 10:51

Attilathemeerkat, (Blimey that was difficult to spell correctly).. I'm already with a consultant as I have sever Endo'. My husband had a vasectomy reversal 1 year ago and all was successful. I mc just before waiting to start clomid for the first time. Ijust feel like I should have my bloods done 3 times e.g. 21, 24, 27 just to see if there is any change. I'm so disappointed. Just been to see one of our tenants and as she opened the door to me her pregnant stomach hit me first. It's everywhere!!! xx

Hails81 · 28/01/2008 11:44

piper1984 · 29/01/2008 21:34

pinkali37,

Did you talk to your doctor about your concerns with the bloods? if there is a nurse in your doctors surgery you should make an appointment with her for days 21 24 and 27, it'll put your mind at ease and wont do you any harm, it is hard to see other pregnant people, happy for them but its still hard, i'm nearly finished my first month of clomid, fingers crossed

Pinkali37 · 30/01/2008 09:13

Only hot flushes a little after i've finished the 5 tablets. I'm also getting a bit of pain in ovaries but not sure whether that is Endo, clomid or just normal.

Don't worry about it though, it's a positive and nothing to worry about xx

Hails81 · 30/01/2008 09:13

Hails81, your right, it has to happen sooner or later, just hopefully sooner rather than later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
zoeypoey44, this is only my first month on clomid, but so far so good, only a few twinges around ovulation but no other side effects, the only side effect i want is to be pregnant!!!!

OP posts:
piper1984 · 01/02/2008 21:40

Hey pinkali37,

the pain in the ovaries must be a good thing, thats the only symptom that i've got as well, has to be good if we both getting the same symtoms right? it must be working

Hiya

Just wanted to say to everyone on clomid good luck and have faith, it does work. I have two clomid daughters ages 2 and 8 months. Both conceived within 3 months of taking 50mg.

hang on in there

xxxx

Pinkali37 · 04/02/2008 10:35

RFCMummy, thank you for the faith and good news... Let's hope it works soon for us all. I'm waiting for AF (late but negative test result), so I can take my 3rd course...

izzybobsmum · 04/02/2008 11:23

I conceived my daughter on clomid - the days I took it I was a complete emotional wreck and my poor husband didn't know what to do with me.

Thankfully for him, it took just one round of clomid for me to fall pregnant!

Keep the faith ladies

piper1984 · 05/02/2008 19:48

Hey RFCMummy and izzybobsmum thanks very nuch for the success stories, they great to hear and reasuring

Hi,

I was put on clomid after 2 yrs ttc and it was found I didn't ovulate - worked on first cycle and we now have DS who is 15 months.

Clomid made me a horrible old witch for a few days - never quite understood why a pill to help you conceive turns you into someone no one wants to have sex with

I think it may have "re set" me, I am now 28 weeks with no2 - 1st month of trying...

Good luck and look forward to seeing announcements soon.
