How many times DTD during TTC for BFP?

I’m wondering those who got their BFP how many times did you DTD to conceive?
did you DTD every day? How many times during fertile period?

DS1 not sure as was unplanned and I was on the pill.
DS2 everyday for 7days
ectopic pregnancy just once and wasn’t aware it was my FW

it doesn’t really matter how many times as it only takes one

We tried for almost 18 months before BFP (but it turned out there was a reason for that).

Regardless, we tried:

1. Every day until after ovulation (taking OPKs)


2. "Saving it up" until closer to ovulation and DTD around 7 days in a row

The time we got pregnant, it was 1 day in a particularly rough week. I actually remember the day b/c it was the only day we could b/c I'd been feeling so rotten.

So, do whatever works best for you b/c, it really does only take the one day :)

17 times.

Twice, first the day after a peak on ovulation test, I thought we missed our change but had been working away!
With my DD (and MC prior to that) everyday during my fertile window.

Dd1 - god knows I was on the pill!
Dd2 - once
Ds - once

Twice, 2 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation x

With DD we were long-distance and she was conceived after having sex once, five days before ovulation.

With DS (currently pregnant) we had sex every day from finishing my period to two days after ovulation.

We more or less followed the SMEP and got pregnant 3 times in a row with no period in between. First was a MC and then a chemical but I’m now 33weeks pregnant. I’d struggled to conceive my first so wanted to through everything at this one and I have to say it worked for me.

We did it twice :)

I just wanted to satisfy my curiosity regarding to SMEP if it was necessary or not. I think it’s a mixed bag really isn’t it…
