Strong OPK but still BFN on hpt tests?

Hi ladies,

for the past 2 weeks I’ve definitely recognised same pregnancy symptoms as my first pregnancy (didn’t go full term). Unmistakable nausea, completely went off chicken (it’s my favourite food usually), cramping for at least a week, dizzy, tired, sore nipples, peeing a lot, etc.

Despite all those strong symptoms, I have been getting negative HPT. I’m 14dpo today (i definitely ovulated 14 days ago, and had unprotected sex that entire time) and AF hasn’t showed

i decided to do an experiment and try my OPK this morning. it was surprisingly dark, but I’ve done them in the afternoon and just now too, and the line has gone even darker than the control line (will show Pic). Normally for me the test line is barely there.

i know OPK don’t substitute for hpt tests, but do you think it’s picking up a pregnancy that isn’t high enough in hcg? Will continue to do hpt in next few days, but so confused. Cramps are so bad today but no AF

Maybe. LH tests show a dark line for me when AF is arriving within a couple days. Could be either way

That’s true, I have heard of an LH surge before AF, but I’ve never had nausea/vomiting as a period symptom. Or cramping for this long

I’m not sure as not experienced it myself. I’ve always read that if HGC is high enough to show on a LH test and high enough for proper pregnancy symptoms (not just a rise in progesterone) then it would show positive on a pregnancy test.

I don’t really know though as I had no symptoms until around week 7 with my daughter so no personal experience

only way to know for sure is to keep testing. Good luck 🤞
