Feeling really upset... Assuming the worst, and really lonely

I came off the pill October 21 and haven't really had a cycle since. Absolutely nothing until about March and then just spotting/very light bleeding at irregular intervals.
I had bloods at the GP and they indicate possible PCOS although I don't have other symptoms.
I just feel so upset that things aren't going right... I'm thinking the worst and that I won't be able to get pregnant without any intervention/easily and it's just so hard to accept.
I don't really have a question or need specific advice but I just feel very lonely as my family and friends all seem to conceive very easily. I haven't told anyone about TTC as I can't take the questions and pity at the moment. Anyone else going/gone through similar?

Hi, I’ve also recently been diagnosed with PCOS. It varies woman to woman, but it just means it can be harder to predict your cycle and you may not always ovulate each month.

I know you said you’re not here for advice, but things can be done to help this. There are lots of medications that can be prescribed and vitamins you can buy.

I was recommended Myo-Inositol by lovely people on here and it’s really regulated my cycle this month. Also I’ve been referred to a fertility clinic to look at other medications. Maybe ask your GP for more info or a referral?

I’ve been where you are and it is hard. It helps for me to focus on the fact that there are things that can be done. Also, you might think everyone else you know conceived easily, but lots of people don’t talk about this stuff. It’s so common to have issues. I had no idea that my cousin and two friends struggled until I spoke to them.

Big hugs though, it’s so so hard. Especially when you can’t talk about it ❤️

Hey!

I was in the exact same boat as you! Came of pill it took me over 6 months to get a period - went doctors found out I do indeed have pcos (thought I had this from very early age but got a late diagnosis) never the less a year and a bit after TTC I fell pregnant. My little boy is now nearly 8 months. Please don't be discouraged it may take a little longer but it doesn't mean it won't happen for you. Wishing you all the best x

:( What has your GP said ?

Variouscricket29 · 24/07/2022 22:19

@1stTimeTTC Not loads. Basically wait until a year TTC and if still no real period she will refer to fertility clinic. Waiting for an ultrasound as well. I know there isn't much else they can do, they won't do clomid or anything so they don't have much more to add at this point.

@FT123456 that is lovely to hear and I'm so glad things worked out for you. That's the sort of thing I need to hear at the moment 😭

@Fleur1985 thanks. I've done a lot of looking into it as well so trying the supplements etc. I went through a period of being quite positive/less upset but the last couple of weeks it's hit me again really. I know we don't know exactly what others go through but I have family members and friends who have said how easy it's been for them - I can't blame them for being insensitive when they don't know how I'm feeling but it doesn't help all the same!
