Is the burst in fertility after a first baby real or just a myth? If it's a real thing how long does it last? I've heard of people concieving naturally shortly after their first child was born, even if their first took years of TTC and/or IVF but don't know if this is common or just a really rare occurence. We are in that position with no diagnosis for why it was so hard to concieve. Now I'm wondering whether to try again for a sibling as soon as we are able (allowing for the necessary safe time after my C-section) or just give up hope of another one and get rid of all the newborn and maternity stuff as soon as we're done with it. I think I would be happy with one since I never even thought we'd get this far but I've always thought two would be ideal. While a larger age gap might be better for me, taking my age (already 41) into account wouldn't leave us with much option other to try as soon as possible.
Would be keen to hear any positive stories from anyone managed to concieve their second one quickly despite having problems with the first.
