Bone Density Scans and TTC

I'm having a bone density scan on the 31st, problem is that will be CD21. do i ttc or not? what can i expect from the scan?

is this for probable enoxaparin injections?

i'm ok- married now and still hankering for a baby!!! ordered a fertility spell off ebay the other day- I will try anything!! am also doing some accupuncture to keep myself calm.

I'm glad to see things are moving along for you- did you have enoxaparin for DS? A girl I work with has a beautiful baby girl after an 'enoxaparin pregnancy' and DH's mum knows somebody who had 8 mc then went on to have a baby after enoxaparin.

Try hunting down MRSMCJNR- she also had enoxaparin.

I'm pretty sure a bone density scan is not like an xray- have you googled?

yes but its not clear.

no, with ds we had a lot of scares, but most of my mcs have been after him, so whatever it is has obv got worse.

Wedding was lovely- beautiful day. Very happy- DH is an absolute angel.

I had a letter off the spell lady today- mia angel?- and am going to cast tonight. Am trying my hardest to be positive just lately but its getting hard. Its been a year now- which isnt long compared to some- but Olivia is 5 in April! I dont think she will welcome a baby soon!

I really sway between complete delirium at the thought of getting pg and being very low at the thought of it NEVER happening.

I work in a hosp and from my experience there are ways of protecting you if there is a poss of pregnancy- they can cover you with a lead apron that x-rays cannot penetrate. very superman!!

wedding sounds lovely. ikwym about timing ds wants a baby brother, "now mummy, ok? deal" and it breaks my heart!

We will get there eventually- all of us- its painful but it must happen!!

My bridesmaid/best mate wasnt able to attend the wedding at the last minute- she was rushed to hospital with an ectopic pregnancy after 18 months of trying It was a very very emotionally painful day for her being in hospital and knowing where she should have been. She was lucky though- no burst tube. baby self sbsorbed back into tube. And the fertility clinic have discharged her because she got pregnant

fecking ridiculous! and what about the risk of another ep being higher now? i get sooo cross!

She is ok- she cant look at my wedding pics without crying which is really doing her head in!!! She is pretty amazing really- selfless to the core. even after all shes been through.

I'm so angry for her that she has been discharged- there must be a reason that the preg wasnt successful??!! Not even a lap done to make sure!!

AND they have told her to go back in 12 months!! 12 months!!!! Has this girl not been through enough???!!!

And yet she just smiles and shrugs its me that wants to smash heads together!! And her DH is just happy to not do the sperm test!

lissielou - Sorry, can't answer your question, but can I be really cheeky and ask you to post about the results of your scan when you get them?

My situation is that I have been given 3 months to conceive DC2, as I'm on Tinzaparin (same thing as you, but to prevent DVT).

One cycle has gone by with a BFN , so I'm running out of time rapidly.

The reason for this is that my consultant reckons the bone density loss is too great to risk being on it for longer than a year. With 9months pg, this gives 3 months ttc.

I was taking it through my previous pg, and have never heard mention of a bone density scan.

Would be very interested to hear how you get on.

its shocking, can she not get a referral through her gp?

of course i will. part of the reason im having the scan is because of my ed's but if you ask the consultant about a BDS they could arrange one (i would've thought anyway)

If another 2 cycles go by, I may ask for a BDS, and see if I can squeeze the consultant for a litle more time.

Yes, will be having every 6 weeks. As if a needle every day isn't enough

GP seems to agree with fertility clinic and DH is reluctant for further referral. pants really.

I think thats a bit shocking that a consultant gives you a time limit- erm..stress......pressure?????

My DH is doing the pornpot test today......voluntarily.......he self referred himself to CRM.no pressure from me. bizarre.
