Chances of Preterm 3rd baby - what were your gestations?

1st baby 40 + 3 (8lb 6)
2nd baby 36+0 (6lb 13)
spotting and waters broke at 35+6 then quick labour following induction drip. All fine and allowed home after 3 days and was amazing at breastfeeding. As far as I know there was know known cause for PPROM. They did pick up GBS after waters went.

i would absolutely love a 3rd but I’m so petrified to have an earlier baby that needs special care etc. does anyone have any experience in second baby being early and what happened in 3rd pregnancy?

Hi OP, I'm currently in the 3rd trimester after my first came at 34.5 weeks (labour started at 31 weeks). We've had a few instances of people in my due date group with similar or scarily even earlier experiences first time around. Fortunately none of us with prior preemies have popped yet, although there have been a few scares. I'd say once you are pregnant, talk to your midwife ASAP. They put pretty much all of us with preemies on medications early (progesterone). They also do a measurement at 16 weeks to check cervix length, that it is closed etc, and a follow up at 20 weeks, or earlier depending on risk level. Of all of us, only one was given the cervix stitch to keep the cervix closed.They just monitor a little closer, which is no bad thing.

Where any of the 36 weekers given progesterone in next pregnancies?
Is there any possible side effect to taking it?

I was given it and actually stopped using it, I hated the side effects. It’s a pessiary which goes in overnight, there’s a lot of discharge and the hormones made me really on edge, I felt like I was back on the mini pill. As I had a late term premie and my cervix was measuring good and consistently didn’t change the hospital was ok with me stopping taking and classes as low risk. Others have taken since day 1 and been fine, maybe I’m just sensitive to hormones
