Anyone used the Clearblue digital monitor?

I have used it for two months.

The first month I used it twice and got low and then a peak.

This month I got low, peak, peak and today it’s high.

Does that mean I have ovulated and levels are still high but dropping or I am yet to ovulate?

Apologies if this is a silly question!

Do you mean you got blank circle, static smiley x2 then a flashing smiley?

These work by first checking your baseline. You will always have a blank circle the first day you use it. Once your esteogen rises you get a flashing smiley until your LH increases then you get a static smiley.

Once you get the static smiley (peak) then you should ovulate in the next day or 2.

@KatySp I’ve been using the digital monitor rather than the digital sticks.

useful to know the first day will always be ‘low’ -thank you!

but yes - I got the equivalent of two static smileys and then a flashing!

Ah, I've been eyeing up that monitor for a while but can't justify the cost. Is it good?

Clearbluehelp · 15/06/2022 15:14

@KatySp not sure! You have to test within a 4 hour window and if you forget, you can’t test that day.

and you have to set up a new cycle within the first 4 days of it starting or you aren’t able to.

plus the batteries ran out and my cycle was wiped that month.

so in short, I think it would be good for people more organised than me!

I have found my results confusing this month - I will keep testing to see what happens but I’m still not totally sure if I have ovulated or not given it went from peak to high!

We’ve been using it since the end of last year. Fell pregnant the first month of using it but sadly suffered an early miscarriage at a little over 5wks. I’m now 9+4, had an early scan at 8+5 and saw a strong heartbeat so keeping everything crossed this one sticks 🤞🏻

Usually you’d get low for a number of days, then flashing smiley (high), then static smiley (peak) which is when you ovulate. I tend to also get a day or two of high post peak days so have always covered those bases just to give us the best chances. In terms of the window, you should be able to pick your 4hr window to one that’s more convenient if you’re finding the preset timings difficult to remember/fit it. I just set mine for earlyish morning (I think 5-11) so just remembered to pee first things those days.

@PointyMcguire huge congratulations, wishing you a healthy pregnancy and sorry for your previous loss.

do you mind me asking if you had ttc much before that? Wondering if it using it will make a difference for me!

sounds like getting a high after a peak isn’t unusual. Will keep dtd until it’s low, just in case!

@Clearbluehelp thank you so much! I still don’t truly believe it’s happening but I think that’s just my brain trying to protect me in case it all goes wrong at the 12 week scan.

We’d been trying for about 12 months with no success before we caved and bought the monitor, but it was only after getting it that we realised even with temping we’d been fairly off in terms of getting the timing right. I’d honestly convinced myself I just couldn’t get pregnant before we starting using the monitor, so it blew my mind when we got our BFP the first month of using it.

I’d definitely say keep at it for a couple of months if you can. After the miscarriage we tried a couple of months using the SMEP method but it was bloody exhausting and made getting a BFN all the more galling after putting so much effort in. What ended up working for us was dtd every 2 days and then both peak days. We also used preseed, but I’ve no idea if that did much aside from taking any romance away from the act 😂
