Can your period be late IF you ovulated on time?

I find myself very confused this cycle. My period is wayyyy late but all tests are negative, not even the faintest of lines.

I have one child and am ttc my second. It took us about a year to get pregnant with our first and we are nearing a year with the second one too, frustrating to say the least :( Given this combined 2 year try period I have observed my cycles thoroughly by now, regularly do opks, temp on some cycles. My overall cycle length varies from 25-27 days, but my luteal phase is always 11 days but for a few 12 day ones (though this is also just within a reasonable measurement error).

This current cycle I did opks and temped and all signs point to I ovulated on cd 15. Now I am currently on dpo 15/cd 30 and still no period, no spotting, temps high but all of the tests are butt negative and I have done all the brands of early tests I have gotten my hands on. Soo confused. Can you have a late period with confirmed ovulation and not be pregnant? Anyone had this, how did it turn out?

Yep, I had a wonky cycle where I ovulated on the normal CD but my period arrived an entire week later than normal (and my cycles were really regular before that). Negative tests but no period!
Who knows.

@BakinABaby I've literally just posted a similar thread to this!! Haven't been tracking ovulation recently as found myself obsessing after 2 mmcs but I'm on CD36 and I'm usually a regular 27 - 30 cycle! Have taken soo many early detection tests all 10000% negative and yet still no period.

I'm so confused and sounds like we're in the same boat!

@FlipperyGibbet Soo infuriating I know. I have never in my life been late unless I have been pregnant.

And lo and behold, I took a frer this evening and there is the faintest of line on it! (unless I have gone crosseyed from looking at too many tests) But, I have also started spotting now :/. So idk, I am hoping it is implantation bleeding, but I think it might just be a chemical, or worse, ectopic.

And the stupidest bit about it all is that after a bloody year I finally get a glimmer of hope, but two weeks ago I got a tick and have defeloped a lyme rash and need to take antibiotics asap, but the standard course abitibiotics for this are counterindicated in pregnancy which I don't even know if I am pregnant. Like just my rotten luck.

@BakinABaby sounds like you're having a terrible time of it, I'm sorry!

I feel the same as you, I'm worried about the potential of an ectopic. Keeping everything crossed for you!

I hope you don't mind if I jump on this thread, I'm new to mumsnet and I'm not sure how this all works but I'm wondering if any of you have experienced what I'm going through :( ...I'm on day 41 of my cycle. I don't track my ovulation so I'm not sure when I OV'd I have had all negative urine test except one that may have been evap, it was so faint. I got worried and went in for bloods wich came back .1 beta (negative) but the nurse told me to give it a few days and test again??!! Wth?? I'm so confused as I thought blood test would be more sensitive than urine but she is telling me to test again in a few days and if I still get negatives they will prescribe me a medication to start my period ..... I know it could be stress especially now because I am hoping it's nothing serious... A little TMI my underwear stay wet with clear and creamy cm .... I have horrible lower back pain on and off and cramps for the past week in a half, nauseated at random times and sore boobs..... There have been several times I had pregnancy symptoms to a T and always turned out AF would come but these symptoms are more intense and ive never been this late for AF.... Have any of you been through something similar?

FlipperyGibbet · 16/06/2022 21:50

@Momma233 the nurse might be recommending to test again in a few days as hcg should double every day or something in early pregnancy, so I'd imagine bloods are more sensitive and then if you have a second blood test in a few days then you'll be able to compare the levels between the two.

I think AF has finally arrived for me today so rolling over to another month of ttc for us

Thanks for your response, I'm not sure just a bit frustrating when you don't have answers.... Hope for a future BFP for you !!!
