Husband works away and ttc

Hi,
I’m lucky enough to have two beautiful kids already but my husband and I have wanted to expand our family for a while now ( 2.5years) and haven’t been successful. He works away all the time and it seems like every time I’m showing signs of ovulation he’s working away. Over the 2.5 years of trying he has been home when I’m ovulating but Iv read it’s only about 15/25% that you could fall pregnant on any given month.

i guess I’m hoping maybe someone has some advice on what our options could be?
does anyone know if you can freeze sperm at home? Or is it possible to freeze my husbands sperm with a proper specialised company that could deliver my husband sperm every month to me?
sounds like I’m going nuts but really just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat and If there is anything we could do to boost our chances.
thanks in advance 😊

What about IUI at a fertility clinic with your partners sperm?

You won't be able to freeze it at home as it needs to be frozen in liquid nitrogen

Hi thanks for replying

I have thought about using a clinic but wasn’t sure if they would provide the service I need. I thought it was for people going through ivf etc.
so do you think it’s worth given then a call just to tell them my situation and whether they can help us out?
i can’t help feeling slighly embarrassed about asking them only cuz Iv never heard of anyone else doing this and also I already have two lovely children and doing this for a possible third child seems a bit drastic ( crazy)

iv Been a bit down today after thinking I was pregnant after a one day period over the weekend. It started on Saturday and finished by Sunday morning so took a test and was negative. Still no more bleeding. Iv never in my life had a one day bleed. This is what’s made me to sign up to mumsnet today to see if anyone had any ideas to what I could do.
thanks for your advice really appreciate it.

Intra Uterine Insemination. They would wash your husband's sperm and insert it directly into the uterus using a thin catheter on your most fertile day. I guess they store it beforehand.

Also, if the one day bleed was roughly a week after your last ovulation, it could be implantation and you should therefore repeat the test in several days.

iv just googled iui and it seems that they have to use your partners sorry fresh on the day so don’t think it will be suited for us unless they do store it beforehand and freeze it! I think I should have a chat with them to see what my options are

im pretty sure when I ovulate as I get ewcm each month along with pains. My last day of ewcm was on thr 30th of may so when my one day period arrived it was 12 days from suspected ovulation day. I’m assuming that would be enough days for a positive test if I was pregnant.

this was the first month this year that my husband was home around ovulation and by the looks of it I didn’t even ovulate this is why I have a one day bleed and negative test. 😫

thanks for all your advice most appreciated 😊
