Hi ladies, for those who had the implant before, how long did it take you to fall pregnant once removed? Also can you get pregnant after removal even if you haven't had a period yet? just curious as i had mines removed 2 days ago :)

Conceived in just under 5 weeks. It varies massively, though. You’ll get responses here from people who never had a period after removal and were pregnant instantly to people who are still TTC years on.

NatriumChloride · 09/06/2022 20:36

A week later! 🤣

Clairey3010 · 10/06/2022 11:38

Within 2 weeks of removal with DD2 7 years ago, no period prior and currently on cycle 3 after implant removal TTC our 3rd

dmb91 · 11/06/2022 03:10

Yes, you can get pregnant before you have your first period.

I've had my implant out for almost a year now, no pregnancy yet. It took 7 months for me to get my first period after removal, my second was 7 weeks later, still waiting for my third or a pregnancy 🤞

Elmo311 · 11/06/2022 04:45

I had the implant for 3 years, had it replaced for another 2 years and got pregnant first cycle after it was removed :)

Good luck OP. X

Hey,
I'm still ttc 5 months on had implant out in Feb, had a period in May and nothing since.
I've spoken to the doctors to and they won't look into it until 1 years time. But I just try not to think about it and carry on as normal.

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/07/2022 18:58

About ten bloody minutes. And the doctor said because of my advanced age and the implant it would be months. Quite the timeline shift!

But everyone is different. It took my perfectly healthy friend about 10 months.

I conceived my 2nd child on the first cycle after having implant removed after 3 years . I had my implant removed after 8 years ( replaced every 3 years) in August last year and no luck conceiving - didn’t get a period until 16th October and I was ovulating (according to Clear blue digital Ovulation tests) very early into my cycle- around CD9 for the first 3 cycles. Im now ovulating between CD12-14. This is my 11th cycle

CherryTreeDream · 10/07/2022 16:57

I was still having regular periods on the implant and I had a period about a week after having it out.

I then conceived before having another period .
I was on the implant for 4 years total.

I had a contraceptive ring and I fell pregnant immediately after removing it! Within a couple of weeks I suppose I realised!

leanneb94 · 16/11/2022 11:49

I had my implant removed on the 7th October, first period on the 15th October and unexpectedly found out I'm pregnant on the 8th November. Still very early days but I am so surprised that it could happen that fast!

JlL28 · 17/11/2022 14:00

Hi
I had my implant removed 10 months ago and stl no luck I've been ttc for nearly 10 months.

Is this normal I had the Implant in for around 11 years.

How long has it taken people

justanotherlaura · 17/11/2022 15:12

I had the implant in for 9 years, I got it out in May and fell pregnant in February.

It took a good 4 months for my periods to go back to normal, my first was 56 days after getting it out then 21-23 day cycles for the next 4 or so before lengthening to about 24 day cycle when I got pregnant

JlL28 · 17/11/2022 18:28

Thankyou for replying.

RecklessBlackberries · 16/03/2023 23:10

Had it removed in July and got pregnant end of December, but that was the first month we weren't using condoms.

Nowhereelsetogo90 · 16/03/2023 23:13

Been TTC 7 months since having mine removed. I’ve got a couple of friends that it took over a year, but another friend who got pregnant first cycle after removal. It varies.
