So, I had my period, bang on time so I hadn't tested, the period seemed to last a bit longer than usual but the last couple of days was just light pinkish discharge, and I had none of my usual AF symptoms but hadn't thought much of it. I then assumed I was on CD10 of my next cycle but started with tummy aches and lower back pain, just felt a bit odd so randomly took a test which was positive. I'm having ever so slight pink spotting now. I know all of this can be normal but I didn't have any of it with my first and I had a chemical last year so a bit worried.
Can anyone offer any personal experiences where this happened and still went on to have a healthy pregnancy?
I did a FR this afternoon, the line showed up pretty much instantly but wasn't quite as strong as the control line, then later did a clear blue digital which said 1-2 weeks, but at this point it should be 3+ so just hoping it was too diluted to show up?

Sorry you're going through this, you need to call your GP or EPU department at your local hospital first thing tomorrow to get checked out.

Thank you for the response. I was thinking of retesting in a day or two to make sure it's getting stronger as I have had a chamical before so hoping it's not that. If it seems to be going the right way then I'll contact GP and make an appointment with the midwife.

A friend had her period every month, gained no weight, and was extremely surprised when one day she felt ill snd went to the toilet and had to call an ambulance as she was having a baby! Honest to god she did not look pregnant at all (a little overweight, but not to the extent it would hide a pregnancy).
Baby has now turned six.

@easyday I've heard of stories like that, but you do find it hard to believe as I've never known anyone that's experienced it personally, but it is amazing isn't it that the body wouldn't show it! How much did the baby weigh when it was born if you don't mind me asking?

I only found out I was pregnant with my now 20 year old DC when my GP sent me to have a blood test to check I wasn't pregnant before prescribing some medication which was contra-indicated in pregnancy. I told the GP there was no way I could be pregnant as I'd had my period 10 days ago and hadn't had sex since.
When I had a scan to date the pregnancy it turned out that I had had two periods when pregnant!

I had monthly bleeds for 5 months and had no idea I was pregnant until I had a bad uti/kidney infection and the nurse did a pregnancy test.

Your GP will want to rule out ectopic pregnancy. It's more than likely that you are fine but a period followed by a positive pregnancy test (particularly one that might not be as dark as you would expect) is something that should be checked out via blood tests and a scan.
Good luck whatever you decide, I hope its all straightforward for you!

I had a heavy but shorter period bang on time before testing positive with this pregnancy. GP wasn't interested, just said test 2 weeks later and wait for 12 week scan to confirm everything was OK. Obviously I tested every day for a few weeks and all was fine at the scan, currently in the 3rd trimester and no bleeding since. Never experienced this with my first two and have had 3/4 chemicals in between. With the chemicals it was always positive test first then bleeding. So it can happen! Fingers crossed for you, the waiting is horrible.

Thank you for everyone's responses, lovely to hear some good outcomes and I appreciate the concern from others and will check in with the GP/midwife ASAP.

Hello all, appreciate this is an old thread but wondered about your outcome? I’m on holiday and started to feel my clothes getting tighter while we were here. Had my last period on March 6th and haven’t had sex since but today, did a test and it was a definite dark line after 5 seconds! No idea what’s happened… help! Ps. Hoping my OH doesn’t think it’s an immaculate conception 🤦🏻‍♀️
