Zita West or Dr Gorgy - for thyroid/immune issues in pregnancy?

Hello there,

Is anyone under the care of Dr Simone Rowena at Zita West? I wanted to meet Dr George Ndukwe but have found out that he is retiring in July and not taking on new patients. Or is anyone under the care of Dr Gorgy and recommends him?

I believe that I have reproductive immunology issues following a miscarriage a few months ago at 9 weeks. After I had my daughter a few years ago following a traumatic birth, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid which is treated with levothyroxine. However, I have recently found out that my thyroid antibodies (TPO) are sky high so think I may have hashimotos which is affecting my fertility and caused the miscarriage.

Has anyone else gone through a similar situation and can shine a light on the best way forward please? I'm in my early 40s so time is not on my side :(
Thank you

Hey, I joined Zita West this yr. I am seeing Dr Simone, we are ttc naturally but with support post BFP as I have had 8 miscarriages. I do have a 5 year old daughter too. I have multiple sclerosis, I’m 41 and I had to have my thyroid removed due to Graves’ disease last year. Needless to say, all of these issues have not assisted with my pregnancies and I’ve miscarried around 7-8 weeks - had testing completed on the tissue and they have come back normal every time. I’ve had NK cells checked which showed elevated risk so I have had 2 intralipid infusions so far. I’ve been fairly happy with the treatment so far, the staff are very knowledgable and tbh I ask a lot of questions due to worry. My close friend has just had a baby via ZW with Dr George before he retired.

So sorry to hear about your miscarriages, I admire your strength for carrying on TTC. It’s good that you feel supported and that staff are knowledgeable. I have had such a rough time with my current clinic not caring about thyroid disorder, that I need to make sure our next clinic is understanding. Intralipids make me nervous, do you feel they are helping with the process?
