Would love to hear from other ladies ttc, in a similar situ.

Hi ladies,

So I'm on CD4. AF turned up last Thursday night after me really thinking that it may have been the lucky cycle, BBT and OPK's were looking promising but it obviously wasn't meant to be.

This cycle I'm considering going cold turkey with both BBT and OPK and just having more of a relaxed approach, however if I don't do either and don't have sex every other day throughout my cycle which me and my OH don't do, due to work, having children already ect ect then how am I supposed to know exactly when I'm ovulating or will it be that I ovulate around a similar CD to my last cycle? If so, do we just concentrate on DTD every other day on my FW?

In April I got my peak OPK on CD14 and a BBT spike on CD16.

🤍

I don’t do bbt, as my husband got really annoyed with the beeping when I tried for my first child! I have some cheap opks but I can’t seem to ever get a positive on them and I probably don’t do them often enough.
we have been TTC since Feb and I just go off my cervical mucus changes and also my desire which tends to ramp up between cd 10-20. We tend to go every other day at that time of the month but it’s not always feasible as life gets in the way. I think being more relaxed about it and no worrying about the exact time of ovulation is probably the way to go. Good luck!

@allthingssparkly I think deep down you'll know if you've been TTC previously when you ovulate. Either through ovulation pains or breast pain, cervical mucus etc. I've had 6 miscarriages and 1 ectopic and I'm currently nearly 7 weeks and been TTC for 4 years. Every time I got pregnant is when I haven't done ovulation tests, no BBT etc 🙄 but I do always end up in the position where I have a window of 3 days of when I potentially could have fertilised 🙈

Relaxing defo works for me but the after effects of that is a pain. X

Thank you @MummyT13

I have documented when I had EWCM & ovulation pains from my last cycle so I can go based off that for this cycle and look out for when those symptoms occur. My periods are regular so I have no doubt it'll be around a similar time this cycle but it's just nice to have the reassurance 🥰 I have heard from so many ladies that they fell preg when they didn't BBT/OPK I suppose it's one less thing to obsess and be distracted over.

Fingers crossed for this time round 🤞

@allthingssparkly yeah it's a lot of pressure to remember BBT & OPK etc especially when your body is telling you all you need to know and all you have to do is listen to your body rather than a stick. Find something to occupy your mind and it'll happen. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻 x

allthingssparkly · 08/05/2022 18:52

Yeah it really is a lot of pressure, I don't want to be having to remember to take my temp every morning before I get out of bed in if I don't have to @MummyT13 😬

It is true what they say everything happens for a reason doesn't it 🤍

@allthingssparkly you know your body ☺️ trust your instincts. I stuck with DTD every other day from day 9-18 and I'd chuck in an extra if I felt like it. Then all bases are covered. DTD every day leading Upto ovulation decreased my OH sperm count 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

allthingssparkly · 08/05/2022 21:30

I will, thank you 😊 My expected FW this cycle is 15th-20th May so I will definitely DTD every other day then 🤞

I have heard that DTD everyday can also reduce their spend quality too so every other day is best.

Good luck with your pregnancy 💞

@allthingssparkly Thanks hun. Keep me updated 😊 you can help take my mind off my anxiety 🙈 x

If you reckon you’re regular to go without bbt and OPK then go for it! I really wish I was, but I’d have no clue without tracking 🤪 Jealous of all the regular cycle girls!
