Testing around 21st May

Hey lovely mumsnetters,

Anyone else starting their TWW and want to join this thread and hold internet hands with each other? x

I have no self control either! It’s so hard! I planned to test Saturday, but I’ve decided now I’m just going to do Friday instead! Trying to convince myself it’s only 3 more mornings of no testing and then I can test!

@WednesdayStar4 I know it’s so hard, I’d love to wait until period is due but I know that won’t happen. Going to try and hold out until at least 11dpo but I know I’m kidding myself saying this lol!

@Ellswells3 I’ll probably cave 9DPO but I’m trying to hold out to 10!

My period is due on the 22nd so I'm trying to hold out from testing until 21st 😬
I did do a cheapie this morning which was negative. (Obviously) Have had really irregular periods recently and haven't tracked my ovulation just had loads of sex every other day for ages to hopefully catch it 😂 trying to avoid spending anymore money on tests until the 21st 😂

I am not the person to ask I'm 9dpo and have already wasted 2 FRER and about 5 cheapies 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@Tropicana1 I enjoy your level of commitment to POAS! I am so the same. I can shamefully admit I wasted a FRER on like 4/5dpo, I was even telling myself I was mental while I did it!!

@Ellswells3 this makes me feel so much better thank you! I'm in good company haha.
Getting quite bad lower back ache now so not optimistic for this month anymore, but I'll still test tomorrow 10dpo with a cheapie because I have no self control, period due thurs but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a day early with the pains I've got and my usual pre period cramping

Wahoo, made it to 8dpo without testing, not sure I’ll last much longer though! 🫠

@WednesdayStar4 same! Although I have woken up today feeling like all of my ‘symptoms’ have gone so definitely think it might have been in my head. Going to try and wait to test so I don’t feel disappointed too soon.

Can I join? First cycle properly ttc #2 after stopping breastfeeding - I haven't had a period yet but based on CM I think I know where I am in my cycle, and expecting AF around the 21st.

Think I ovulated around the 7th, but didn't have any OPKs - it's all a guessing game this month! I'm holding out on testing until the weekend. Probably.

I also couldn’t wait and did a test which was BFN (8dpo), annoyed at myself as I know it’s too early but also now feel disappointed!! I have another test arriving from Amazon on Thursday or Friday lol!

@ttc#2 having stared into two starkly negative FRERs of mine the last couple of days I can definitely see a line in yours! Tentative congratulations!

I'm 9dpo so still very early and had a few chemicals before so trying not to get my hopes up 😬🤞

@ttc#2 that looks like a line to me! 🤞 see these tempt me to test early! I’ll definitely be caving by 9DPO! Only 7 at the moment so I’m just waiting a few more days!

Me too! I wanted so badly to wait until AF but I am 8 dpo today and have FRERs in the cupboard and I could just test tomorrow morning 😬

I couldn’t hold out and tested at 9dpo 😬 So much for waiting until AF is due! But now I feel silly because I have to just test again anyway. I had a very faint line come up on a FRER, it appeared within the time frame but there’s not much colour to it (maybe a hint of colour in real life, hard to tell) so I’m not entirely convinced!

Shouldn’t have tested so early but it’s just so hard to resist!

BFN on a cheapie this morning at 11 DPO. AF is due tomorrow so I'll probably use an FRER in the morning to confirm I'm definitely out if it hasn't arrived but 99% sure it's not this month

Thank you lovely. My last pregnancy was an ectopic and there is a risk this one might be too (especially because I’ve had some one sided twinges already!). Im not going to know for a while if its a viable pregnancy so I’m not going to get excited yet. But still, I suppose that if I do have a pregnancy that works out it’s got to start somewhere.

Sorry to hear about the bfn. It’s absolutely the case that you aren’t out until AF arrives. But even if this isn’t your month - you’re still getting closer every day to the month that is yours 💙

Thanks @WednesdayStar4 - trying to think of the positives like one more month saving up for statutory maternity pay, although like you say not completely out until af arrives. Temp is still up and not had any period pains really today or yesterday afternoon which is unusual, but literally not even a hint of a line on the cheapie so

Sorry about your ectopic - fingers crossed this one isn't as well, hopefully you'll see some nice line progression over the next few days and all will work out 🥰
