Hi everyone. Sorry a bit of a random one and I’ve got myself more confused by googling.
Basically to be entitled to maternity pay I needed to wait until the Monday 2nd May to start TTC, originally my TOTM was due on the 2nd of May so this worked perfectly as this would have been date of LMP. However, I came on early on the 29th April (the Friday) and so technically this would be LMP, I also have short cycles of roughly 24 days which I did not think mattered, but now when I’ve looked on the nhs due date calculator apps it estimates my due date (IF I was so lucky to get pregnant first try which I know would be a huge IF!!) to be a week too soon for the additional mat pay.
I have been desperate to start TTC and have been so excited for this month to start, have taken pre conception vits for 3 months in preparation and now I feel really deflated as the pay makes a huge difference and we would need it.
My question is - is the ultrasound at 12 weeks more accurate for calculating EDD than LMP? Like I have only just finished my period and haven’t ovulated yet so surely my due date wouldn’t be 40 weeks from Friday the 29th like LMP would put it? Or would it?
Sorry if this doesn’t make sense, I have tried to Google it in every which way.
Basically - how much does EDD change compared to LMP at scan?
I am guessing the real answer is that if I need the maternity pay then really I will need to wait till next month :-(
The other reason I feel deflated is realistically I can only try in May / June as I am a bridesmaid next May in Cyprus for my absolute bestie who has been through so much and still gone above and beyond for me, and I wouldn’t want to travel with babe less than 12 weeks ish.
