LH reads high on CD10. Faulty test or baseline?

My cycle is average of 35 days and my LH levels don't normally start increasing until about CD16. LH shows 1.12 and 1.23 high. I normally get sore and heavy boobs just before ovulation and they feel normal right now. I took one test tonight and photographed it more than once because I find the reading can vary. I don't want to miss this window 😥

Few things:

Could be a weird cycle where you ovulate early? It happens.

Any reason why you couldn't have sex just in case?

Do you temp to confirm ovulation?

What was your last period like? You may know (and this is probably a stupid question) but often OPKs show positive when pregnant.

Do you have PCOS? If so there may be a few surges before actual ovulation.

@czycoup

Could be a weird cycle, true.

No reason, just wasn't planning on it just yet 😄 I can get right down to it anyway.

I don't do BBT, though probably should.

My last period was unusually heavy and clotty, which is why I've assumed my last try ended in a CP.

I have never been diagnosed with PCOS. My cycles are regular enough at about 35 days.

Personally I would DTD just in case - when it doubt, bang it out

@czycoup good call. Thank you 🙂

Just to add I recommend temping if you ever want to be sure you have ovulated. I have several LH surges sometimes so it really helps to know which one was the right one and saved me a lot of stress and money doing pregnancy tests when I got a false surge - also has created frustration when I was SURE I ovulated but got no temp rise so it's swings and roundabouts really. Although it might not be necessary if you are confident in your cycles. Temping is a bit of a pain to get into but eventually it becomes a habit, it's the first thing I do now no matter how sleepy I am and I don't really find it much of a chore.

So to follow up, I took an HCG test yesterday morning CD11 (the bigger one at the top) and another one this morning CD12 (the smaller one at the bottom) both FMU and both are BFN 😟

My LH levels are still high, like 1.13, when it's usually 0.40 - 0.60 which is low for me, so there must be just enough HCG left in my system to bring back a positive LH test but not quite enough to bring back a positive HCG test.

I have a BBT thermometer coming from Amazon today, so I'll be temping very soon. I've had a funny head over the last few days, like lightly nauseous and a little bit tired which I've read could be the HCG, but I'm not sure on that one.

I don't have the usual sore and heavy boobs that I typically get around ovulation, although the Premom app tells me it's 6 days away, so I'll stick to my plan to DTD from CD14 to CD24, so every other day, like 5 days over 10. My DH is a very happy man, I'll tell you that 😄

LH levels are now coming down, 0.81 last night. BBT this morning was 36.15C. And I no longer feel nauseous, so was definitely a CP last cycle. Will DTD tomorrow (CD14) and then every other day from there.

Wishing anyone else in the same boat all the best of luck.
