Would you trust out of date tests?

I had a miscarriage a couple months back and it completely broke me. Really quickly I had a normal cycle again and I'm a couple days late now and haven't come on. I had 2 pregnancy tests that have just expired back in January so thought I would use them just to check. They are both from different boxes not the same batch but both out of date. The lines appeared immediately but I don't know if I can trust them or if I should get my hopes up yet. Has this happened to anyone else?

Honestly I think you need to get new tests to be sure, they have n expiry for a reason. I’m sorry and good luck.

Moosh18 · 26/04/2022 18:37

@ChangeN I would say they are 💯 positive, they wouldn't just turn negative after a few months of being out of date! But get a digital to confirm! Seeing it in words will reassure you' I'm sorry about your Mc! And congratulations on your pregnancy!!!! Zzz

ChangeN · 26/04/2022 18:41

Okay thank you both! I'll be popping out on my lunch break tomorrow to buy some new tests Grin

Oh wow, strong lines too. They didn't expire long ago, I'd say they would be reliable enough. But definitely get another to confirm. Good luck and keep us posted 😊

IlonaRN · 26/04/2022 19:24

They would be more likely to show a false negative than a false positive.
Congratulations!

Thank you, I have a little hope! I will update either way

I used an out of date one a couple of weeks ago and it was accurate.

Congratulations 🥳. I came on to say I only tested the day I found out I was expecting DD because the test expired that very day!

Maybebabyno2 · 27/04/2022 21:12

Yey!!!! Congratulations op!

PinkButtercups · 27/04/2022 21:16

Congratulations!

They're super strong lines for 2-3 weeks. Maybe twins?!

ChangeN · 27/04/2022 21:31

Oh gosh I hope it's not twins haha! I worked out I would be roughly 4 weeks from the date of my last period

Happierthanever91 · 27/04/2022 21:34

Congratulations!! 😊

PinkButtercups · 28/04/2022 17:42

I'm four week too. My tests aren't that strong! 🤣

ChangeN · 28/04/2022 18:32

I'm hoping it's just because they're out of date and it's not twins Grin
