Cerm trial after recurrent loss placebo or real thing?

Hi all,

Currently part of the Tommys Cerm trial and started the doxycycline/placebo today. Obviously no one really wants the placebo. Anyone who has taken part, was it obvious if you had the placebo or not, if so how did you know? Not really sure where this fits so posted a few places.

Hi, just came across this thread. Happy to answer questions if you need; CERM trial graduate here!

@showmethegin I’m pretty sure I had the placebo 😂 so I bought some doxy online after because I did have endometritis

Are you serious OP? Surely that will screw up the trial results?

@Brightstar29 you cannot take doxy bought online and do the trial. You are risking the study results (and therefore the future healthcare of other women) AND your own health as you may be taking a double dose of the active ingredient. You should pull out of the study and tell the people looking after your care.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl it was after the trial had ended and I had had the second biopsy that I got my own doxy.

Im not being funny but I completed the trial fully by the rules and didn’t get my own doxy until after the second biopsy, and it was very clear from the differences in side effects that what I’d had on the trial was a placebo. Not major side effects but an obvious difference. Not sure why I should have had to risk leaving my endometritis as it was once I’d finished the trial or risk having another mc when there’s evidence in other countries that doxy works for this.

Ah sorry @Brightstar29 - both I and the poster above you thought you were still in the trial! Good luck and I hope it works for you 😊 x
