Do I ovulate day of or day before bbt rise?

I know that a bbt rise of 0.3C and ewcm are signs of ovulation. Is ovulation day the day of or the day before a bbt rise? I’m CD12 and my bbt rose by 0.3C this morning. Ewcm for 3 days prior.

BBT rises after Ovulation (I think)

Someone else may comment on here who has a better idea but I'm CD11 and currently tracking with both BBT and OPK and I'm sure that's how it works 😊

I keep reading conflicting information - some articles state the day of a bbt rise and some may the day before! How confusing!

Yes BBT rises after ovulation. It might have been the day before or earlier the same day, but once the temperature is up, it means the ovulation has already happened. You also normally need at least 3 days of elevated BBC to confirm that ovulation happened - 1 raised day might not be accurate (I.e. BBT might have been elevated briefly for some other reason)

@Ocelotka thank you. 2 days ago my bbt was 36.4C, yesterday was 36.7C and today was 36.6C. Do you think I ovulated yesterday or the day before? This is a bit earlier than usual for me.

Absolutely @Sushi7 it will give you a clearer indication on your BBT chart if your temps stay elevated. 😊

@Sushi7 I recommend using FF app. You can record your temps in there and it tells you when you have ovulated based on 3 elevated temperatures. With yours, I wouldn't be convinced unless/until I've seen a consistent increase of at least 0.3 degrees for at least 3 days. Then you could say that you ovulated on the last day of lower temperatures. You should remember however that this will never be 100% accurate. The only accurate way to confirm ovulation is ultrasound scan. The rest are just educated guesses.

Honestly it varies person to person, from my pregnancy dates my ovulation must have been a couple of days later than my bbt app was placing it and the month of my bfp is the one month I stopped tracking and carried on dtd past my predicted date so I don't think it was ever placing my o date in the right place x
