So I got a 'period' on the 2nd of April tested negative the day before but I only had one day that was like a period like bleed and then 3 days very light so tested again after the bleed (Wednesday) and tested negative then tested again on the Friday negative but since that bleed I've felt so off so I tested again last Sunday 10th April and I got a very faint positive on a hospital strip test (I work in a hospital) so I waited till the Wednesday to test again took 4 different brands of Tests all negative but I'm still feeling very off I've had no bleeding since but I keep feeling sick, pains at the side of my breasts and partner says they feel bigger and I've had to slacken off my bra aswell, headaches, feeling a little dizzy, abdominal pains like hunger pains and I'm not hungry I'm just confused I will call the doctors but anyone experience similar and end up being pregnant or any advice would be appreciated thank you!

Why would you need to call the doctor?

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 11:11

I'm going to call my doctor practice to see if I can get a blood test to see if I am pregnant or not

I think if you had a faint positive but nothing since then it's unlikely you're pregnant. From your account, you'd be expecting to be 5-6 weeks now? Are you tracking ovulation?

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 11:30

Yeah I've been tracking ovulation for about 6 months now and I've been trying to conceive for a year thank you for your comment.

How many DPO are you?

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 11:48

Well since I had the bleed around about when I usually get AF I should have ovulated yesterday when I usually do in my cycle but I haven't had a surge not yet anyway which is unusual because every month I ovulate CD14 I've been very consistent with ovulation and AF so I'm not sure what is happening

Why not wait a few more days and then test again. If the tests are negative then either you are not pregnant or its too early to test. Try not to get too anxious.

ButFirstTea · 16/04/2022 12:06

Might be different where you are but my GP doesn't do any blood tests for pregnancy, you just get referred to midwife after a positive home test.

How do you track ovulation? If its just OPKs then you might have gotten a false surge and not ovulated when you think you did so your dates might be slightly off.

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 12:06

Thank you Viviennemary for your comment yeah I'll test again in a couple days and keep tracking my ovulation too.

ButFirstTea aww okay I didn't know that I've never been pregnant before so I wasn't sure how it all works and yes I test with OPK's and I'm always spot on with my ovulation but I suppose it can change thank you for your comment.

When I was trying I got told "you're always regular until you're not" - you can have a weird cycle at any time so don't worry too much if it turns out you ovulated early or late this time. Good luck!
Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 12:33

Thank you so much @ButFirstTea!

You probably know it already, different pregnancy tests are more sensitive than others.

The days you repeated the tests, did you drink more fluids? Diluting your urine?

Have you experienced more stress, leading to delayed or crazy cycle as dsis calls it?

Both times I have had a covid infection, it messed up my menstrual cycle. Have you had a possible covid infection?

One last thing, based on my experience with pregnancy tests, I have had a stronger line in the evening compared to morning tested when I was pregnant.

Good luck 👍

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 12:47

@Bananarice I test for covid regularly as I work in a hospital, when I got the faint positive I had drank 1.5ltr of water and a coffee and the other times I tested negative was first morning urine and early afternoon holding urine for 4-5 hours and I haven't been through anymore stress than usual and I've never been late or early with my periods even when I have gone through stressful situations so I'm not sure maybe just one of those things I guess. Thank you so much for you comment I appreciate it

@Ladybug31 I had similar last time I was ttc. A very small 2 day period that I thought for sure meant i was pregnant. I was feeling off, even sick a few times but negative tests. It was just my body playing tricks on me though. Ttc is very tough physically and mentally.

I'd wait a few days and if no positive I'd presume it was your body playing up. Hopefully a bfp soon x

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 15:08

@LemonZestDribbles you've got that right it is very hard when you think about trying for a baby you think it's going to be fun and exciting but for alot of women it's actually really hard and draining but I'm not giving up though it will happen at some point thank you for you comment!

LemonZestDribbles · 16/04/2022 15:13

@ladybug31 it definitely will! I got my bfp a few cycles after that weird one. Now ready for ttc#2 and I'd forgotten all the heartache. It will happen though. Sending you loads of baby dust ❤

Ladybug31 · 16/04/2022 15:21

@LemonZestDribbles aww I'm so happy it worked out for you and I wish you all the best trying for baby no2 I hope you get your positive very soon sending lots of baby dust to you too ❤️

What CD were you when you bled? I think implantation bleeding is just light spotting for one day a week or so after ovulation. It sounds like you had a normal period. Sorry :/

HelsyQ · 16/12/2022 22:35

False positives are incredibly rare. Take another test in a week or so.

Inneedofadvice1 · 17/12/2022 09:40

Hi guys, my periods are normally clockwork but recently become lighter.
I was due on a week ago yesterday but have had 2 negative tests.
Has anyone taken more than 7 days to show positive or am I hoping for something that's not going to happen?
Had period pains but not bleed, feel nauseous at times and mood swings (although I'm not sure if that's stress)

I'm 38 and have no other children, so finding it all very stressful and my mother is not here to help. Doctors referred for bloods but will take a couple of weeks to get an appointment here.

I want to take another test Monday morning and have been using the clearblue ultra early digital tests.

Has anyone experienced this and still got a positive 7 days plus?
