Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Do any of you have experience conceiving when you have pre-existing cervical ectropion?

I have cervical ectropion and am trying to conceive, and I was hoping to hear from anyone that has/had cervical ectropion already diagnosed before you conceived. I’d like to hear your experience. For example, did you still experience your normal ectropion bleeding despite conception? Did you find it was harder to spot early pregnancy because of CE? Or perhaps your CE bleeding stopped?

Thanks to me CE I bleed anywhere from 7-10 days post ovulation right up to my period starting, but I don’t know if I should be expecting that CE bleeding to still present if we’ve conceived. It would certainly make the ttw shorter, but similarly don’t want to count myself out of the month if I should still expect CE bleeding even if we’ve conceived.

I know many women experience CE in early pregnancy, but in this instance I’m most interested in hearing from those who already had it before pregnancy! Thanks in advance!

Can’t you be booked in to get it frozen off with the silver nitrate sticks? It’s very quick and simple?

Are you sure it’s CE bleeding in the days up to your period, rather than spotting?

Irregular bleeding like this should be looked into by your GP and as previously said can be easily treated at your colposcopy unit. Make sure you are up to date with your smear.

Hiya!

I don't have an ectropian anymore as I had to have a loop excision later for different reasons.

However I conceived my youngest whilst I had it. I would spot around ovulation and also after sex. I found that when I was pregnant I no longer spotted at all. And I conceived easily.

Xx

Thanks @GoT1904

And to confirm I have seen my GP and fully up to date with all gynaecological checks. They also confirmed my bleeding is from the cervical ectropion.

I Have a CE and have 2DD's, I found out during 1st pregnancy as had bleeding at 5 weeks

I had an ectropion however I did have it cauterised and also found that my symptoms went away after stopping the pill so it may have resolved itself. I am 10w+4 today and have had no bleeding in my pregnancy yet although I do know some women have had bleeding identified as coming from ectropion and Dr doesn't seem to be concerned about it x I would test as you normally would past ovulation regardless of your bleeding, it shouldn't be an issue ttc x
