First Response early preg test

Bizarre - I have been feeling very pregnant for the last 2 weeks (exactly the same symptoms as with DS 2.5 yrs ago) and have done 4 early preg tests - all negative, and I feel like I'm going mad - am I imagining these symptoms! AF due on Tuesday. Anyone had any experience of these preg tests? Are they rubbish and a waste of money?

AF is here and I can't believe how awful I feel. It's ridiculous because after a hideous experience with DS 1 I was never ever going to have any more children, but that was 2.5 yrs ago and time is a healer! I had been starting to think that I wanted another baby - and this was our first attempt (so I shouldn't complain) but I was so absolutely convinced that I was pregnant - had ALL the same symptoms as when preg with DS, and more importantly had finally got my head round having another baby and was so excited. Now I feel so foolish after having spent so much on preg tests and them all saying negative..

I feel awful too - feel sick today and exhausted and have terrible tummy pains.

DH has stormed off to work this morning telling me he is going to have to work late in order to earn extra to pay for the supermarket shopping I did last night!

I'm fed up .

Awww bigbanana, HUGS I'm sure you'll get pregnant in no time! I was super-fertile back when I got pregnant with Theo and it took 2 months...

good luck Pook!!

I'm sure I'll be joining you bigbanana in wallowing over the fact that I'm not pregnant, even though I still feel sick and weird! Sends you chocolate, a log fire, a big snuggly blanket and a good book (and a whole day in which to curl up and do nothing!)...well, I would if I could!

bigbanana · 25/11/2004 08:37

Thank you Fastasleep! the whole fire, book and chocolate thing sounds really good...unfortunately I have 2.5 yr old tearing around today!

Keeping things crossed for you! - but stay away from fish counter as ASDA!

pooka · 25/11/2004 08:44

So sorry bigbanana. Enjoy your chocolate. Still no AF here, but I was very hot last night and feel slightly achey today, so don't think it's far away

bigbanana · 25/11/2004 08:55

Pooka

Keeping everything crossed for you too. How many days is AF late now?

OP posts:
pooka · 25/11/2004 12:03

Have a fairly irregular cycle, but about 3 says by my reckoning. We shall see....... Tests are burning a hole in my bag, but would be a shame to throw another 12 quid away lightly.....

MissChief · 25/11/2004 17:17

sorry girls, haven't been on this before - and to excited/nervous right now to scroll down, hope you don't mind me butting in!
just tested - i'm regular as clockwork 28 days (+ or -1) and tested today day 27 with first response early, and there're 2 lines (one is fainter though - does this mean anything?)
don't won't to get hopes up as have had m/c and alot of spotting/worries when I was pregnant with my 1st. is this really it or could it be a false positive? why oh whoy was it today i decided to handle bleach/cat litter tray/paint!

geordie · 25/11/2004 17:36

two lines is a positive..you will find that the line gets darker if you test in a couple of days time......good luck xxx

MissChief · 25/11/2004 17:49

thanks georgdie

fastasleep · 25/11/2004 19:10

Way to go MissChief!! And good luck with it all!

I definately am staying away from fish counters!! I know I'm just being silly though lol... I've had faint positives twice since my son was born to no avail, so I'm not even going to get excited...oh what a lie, yes I will! But still it'll be negative

bigbanana · 30/11/2004 11:49

Fastasleep - any news? How are you?

OP posts:
bigbanana · 30/11/2004 12:47

Pooka - any news from you?

OP posts:
fastasleep · 30/11/2004 12:55

I...don't know lol I'm alright, waiting to test will put my BFN/BFP up on here as soon as I get a proper one! Thanks for asking!

pooka · 01/12/2004 14:26

Sorry bigbanana - have been away from pc for ages and so much to catch up on. AF arrived on day 35, with a vengenance. A relief really, as am hopeful that we'll crack it this month, fingers crossed!

bigbanana · 02/12/2004 12:14

good positive response! I'll be thinking of you - stay in touch! I think I might give it a go in January (get Christmas out the way!)

OP posts:
pooka · 02/12/2004 13:00

I'll defo stay in touch! I know what you mean about getting Christmas out of the way - lots of nights out for me and dh (together and separately) so not sure how energetic we'll be feeling

fastasleep · 05/12/2004 08:47

Well I had 3 faint positives, 2 from about 9 days past ovulation and one today, but I'm really hurting now (ouch) so I guess it wasn't a sticky bean! Next month it is (poor baba will have a crappy September birthday and be the youngest in her/his class!)

aloha · 05/12/2004 10:05

September birthdays are great! ds is the 17th, will be one of the OLDEST in his class, and we've always had glorious weather for his b/day.

fastasleep · 05/12/2004 10:28

Oh yeah, silly dh telling me otherwise! thanks aloha..

oopsanta · 05/12/2004 11:11

fastasleep, why do you think it is ging to be a mc?
I have had tinges and sore bits when early pg...it may not be so bad.
good luck anyway, just don't want you to get sad unless you need to

fastasleep · 05/12/2004 19:59

I thought so this morning oops, but now nothing's happened I'm beginning to get curious - which is never good! A superdrug test I had kicking about showed a BFN earlier, if there's nothing tomorrow morning I'm going to go back on my promise (to self) and buy some clearblues.. probably just waiting for an early m/c though, I don't feel quite right...somehow!

bigbananaflambe · 06/12/2004 15:21

Hi fastasleep, hope you are ok...I could have laid money on being preg last month - it was so strange - even had dry itchy eyelids like I had when preg with DS - can that have been in my mind?! Got AF a day late and felt absolutely gruesome with it - really uncomfortable. Was convinced I was preg - but too much of a coincidence isn't it to get AF (only 1 day late)?

Hope you are ok - let me know how you get on - been thinking about you Smile

fastasleep · 07/12/2004 08:57

Hey bigbanana :).... There's nothing happening yet, my period usually comes on the 1st of every month (I know that's weird but it doooes! Lol) dh coudln't even remember me having last month's AF and got me really worried as I sat there trying to remember exactly when it was etc etc... I'm getting sharp pains but no aches... don't think I've ever been this late before! I refuse to test though...lol

fastasleep · 07/12/2004 08:59

I guess it's one of those never know situation things... I was suuuure I got faint lines, even kept pulling them out of the bin to find they were still there...lol... Good luck with this month Hugs
