Have dd 11 and ds 3. When I had ds I knew I wanted another and didnt feel 'finished' IYKWIM.
Because we had such a big gap with these two, we would like a smaller gap but unfortunately its growing

So I have a few questions:

  1. What made you decide to try for No.3
  2. Is it true that labour is worse for third.
  3. I go back and forth thinking nah couldnt do it again to desparately wanting to be pg. What if I do get pg and revert back to thinking its not what I wanted?
  4. I will hopefully be working for an NHS trust by September, if I'm pg when I start does anyone know if I will get mat pay?
  5. Is 4 years still a big gap?
  6. When should my mirena come out if ttc about august time?

Probably have loads more questions but please tell me how No.3 was for you. This baby will definately be our last

OK can't help with most of them but

  1. - not at all - my 3rd was AMAZING and I'm still buzzing (it was just over 7 months ago). My 2nd was awful, my 1st......well pretty non-existent really LOL!!

Oh - and how it is?? Lovely - he's wonderful - and really easy - in fact the reason I'm on here now is because DS1 and DS2 (7 and 4) are downstairs entertaining him

mat pay in nhs services is smp unless you have two years service

mosschops30 · 07/01/2008 20:21

OMG are you serious? I wont get SMP as have been a student nurse for 3 years so have paid no tax.

Well thats done it, certainly cant afford to be off work with no pay!

but isn't there an alternative to SMP for those that don't qualify for it???

TheIceQueen · 07/01/2008 20:25

would you qualify for Maternity Allowance?

Coby · 07/01/2008 20:28

yep,lookie here

mosschops30 · 07/01/2008 20:28

I think this is what I claimed with ds but I had to have worked (i.e. paid NI) for a certain period.
I havent paid NI since 2004.

Maybe I will phone them tomorrow and see. Thanks for that. We could survive on this if I was eligible
