How many rounds of Clomid before your BFP?

Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering how many more rounds of Clomid I should go for before giving up and having a break or moving on to IVF.

We conceived with the first round of Clomid 50mg in august (prescribed because I have one blocked tube, and to encourage ovulation from both sides) but had a MMC in October.

We've been TTC on Clomid since then, with monitoring showing plenty of big follicles and thick endometrium, but cycle 5 just failed.

My fertility doc is happy to give me more Clomid but I'm worried it's having an adverse effect on cervical mucus and that I should take a break. The hot flashes are no joke. And I'm worried about cysts etc, even though she couldn't see any.

So I'm just curious if anyone got pregnant after 6 rounds, or if anyone got pregnant after stopping Clomid?

I'm so sorry to hear of your fertility struggles. It can be such a sad and lonely time. For me personally I had 6 months of clomid and didn't conceive. I then had a 2 month break and had clomid, menopur injections and IUI and amazingly it worked first time. I always read about all the successes of clomid but never the failures and when it didn't work for me I felt like a failure. Perhaps it is time for a break and to look into IVF?

@DisneyGirl2387 thank you so much for your reply. Yeah I think a break might be in order. Was IUI to get passed a male factor issue or lack of cervical mucus? I know Clomid can do that.
