Should we wait to TTC even with endometriosis?

Hi everyone!

So 3 years ago I had a surgery to remove a cyst off one of my Fallopian tubes. After my surgery I received a letter in the post telling me they incidentally found endometriosis. Since then I had lots of symptoms which got worse and I decided to go back and request another surgery to remove the endo. That surgery is tomorrow!

The plan for myself and DP currently is that we are looking to buy a house (proving difficult as they’re being snapped up). Once the house is bought and done up, he really wants us to have a big holiday just the two of us, it’s really always been his dream to go to America or Australia and he wants to do that before we have a baby. I also don’t drive yet so ideally I’d like to learn before we have a baby too. All of this could take some time and I will be 29 in a few months.

I’m really starting to worry that it’s not a good idea to put this off with me having endometriosis, but I then I don’t know how smart it is to start TTC when we aren’t ready (emotionally I am read but DP isn’t). I am feeling quite stressed about it.

I know that no one here can tell me whether I’ll have problems conceiving or not, but I was hoping to hear from some other people who have endo and would like to know if you decided to wait or get straight to it and what your journey has been like etc?

@Pondz have you had your AMH tested? That might give you an idea of how long you have. Unfortunately in my case endo had a detrimental affect on my egg reserve.

Not sure if it will help! I’ve roughly had operations for endo roughly every 5 years over 20 years , I’ve now had the coil for near on 7 years and had really helped with the treatment.

I have got pregnant within a year after two of the operations. I would maybe consider something like the mirena coil? That has really helped keeping my endo at bay and then when your ready then have the coil removed?

Only you both know when your ready.
