Positive pregnancy test two days after period??!! Help

I finished my period (which is what I thought it was) two days ago. Today I got random spotting which isn't normal for me and I had been feeling very very fatigued but thought it was down to my period.
I just randomly did a pregnancy test just now on a held bladder of an hour and I've got a positive pregnancy test????!!!!
Can anyone help me figure this out. How??

Has anyone else experienced this before? The second line showed up before 5 minutes

My guess would be that 'period' was an implantation bleed.

Also some women leed in pregnancy I know of a friend who had regular periods throughout her 3 pregnancies.

Would you say the period was as heavy as you would normally expect it to be? If it was quite light there's a chance it could have been implantation bleeding

I would say it was shorter yes, but I still had the same cramps etc. and didn't really notice much difference. I'm in shock as definitely thought it was a no this month. I think I'm going to pop and get a better test to make sure

It was a blighted ovum for me. I'd book a scan.

I've added another pic to see if that's any better! Currently off to go get some better tests! So will update shortly. So strange! Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this?

I've just searched that as I have never heard of it, I think I'll definitely get in touch with the gp tomorrow

It was an implantation bleed. The exact same happened to me. Felt like a normal period with clots and cramps etc, was just a bit shorter than normal and stopped abruptly.

It happened with both my pregnancies. I also bled a bit at weeks 8,12 and 16 when my period would've been due. The week 16 bleed was fairly heavy but all was well with babies and a scan couldn't find any reason for the bleeding.

You'll probably need a private scan at about 6 weeks. Nothing a GP can do but test HCG which in my area they don't do when you can just wait and see and there is no medical need.

I've bought some more tests, some clear blue digital ones so I'm just waiting to strengthen my urine to do a test!

I couldn't wait any longer!! Test says pregnant and 1-2 weeks!!! Can't quite believe that. Not sure how reliable the weeks will be since it's evening urine so might test again in the morning? Not sure if that would make a difference

Well you must be pregnant! I had 2 quite heavy bleeds that I thought were my period but I was in fact pregnant at just over 6 weeks gone. Still check in with the GP so they can maybe get you an early scan due to the bleed. Just precautionary!

JennyB I feel like we are twinning here! I tested 14dpo on Friday past and was negative. Started what I thought was my period:
Friday- spotting when wiped
Saturday- heavy normal flow
Sunday - bright red but tailed off by evening
Mon&tuesday - nothing on pad but spots when I wiped.

So I though I was on a new cycle, and it's CD6. Decide to take an opk LH strip. It was bright red. dr Google says "possible sign of pregnancy". Take a cheap hcg strip and it's positive, took a 2nd to be sure. Took a FRER this morning and strong positive.

I had my post-mortem today from my late miscarriage in Nov. Timing is bizarre, but my consultant was like...sounds like implantation bleeding. He has booked me for a scan next week. It's not letting me post pics because I'm a new member...maybe as I only joined today

Not to get you too disappointed, but this month I got a positive test, followed 4 days later by a 2 day period (two weeks ago) and sadly my tests are only just now testing negative. After the bleed but before my EPI visit CB digis we’re still telling me pregnant 1-2 weeks. I had a scan last week which showed no signs of pregnancy and my HCG test results were 43 followed by 27 two weeks later. Hope you’re luckier than me

I'm sure that was a disappointment @curliegirlie if I'm reading @Jennyb1 correctly she, like me didn't get a positive before our bleeds but after. I'm not sure if that's a good thing, but hopefully it is. Hugs to you @curliegirlie x

I had the same, bit of a different period for me but found out I was pregnant a few days later, now 16w. Congratulations ❤

Yes you are correct. I hadn't previously tested I was two days late for my period but didn't 'feel' pregnant I just sort of wasn't overthinking it and we didn't 'plan' this month so I didn't expect to me so wasn't looking out for the signs. I just tested this evening. I'm going to do another digital in the morning because my urine was quite week and I'm sure I would be more than 1-2 weeks. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage, hopefully some positive news to come for us all❤️

I got emotional reading your reply, such a sad but lovely timing for you. Crazy how things work out hey, I'm so happy for you though and wish you the best in your pregnancy.

It's not how I expected to find out I was pregnant first time round I have to admit so I'm in a bit of a shock as I really didn't expect it and it's not quite the 'normal'. But I'm still cautions so going to ring the GP tomorrow and get some advice

I also wasn’t TTC so it was completely random that I tested when I did - I could easily have just as randomly only tested after the bleed and been mightily confused.

Do keep an eye out for line progression etc. In retrospect it should have been a red flag when I was testing with one step tests, that although I was testing positive until yesterday (two weeks after the bleed) the line never got anywhere near as dark as the control.

I really hope all goes well for you - whilst frantically scanning Mumsnet and Google etc I came across plenty of stories where it was a positive outcome despite significant bleeding…

How are you getting on. I took a clear blue digital on saturday and it said 2-3wks (post conception), which is bang on! Ive been taking the cheap hcg strips too and my line is progressing daily. So fingers crossed.

In my parallel universe i would have been having my c-section today. I visited my baby girls grave yesterday to say thank you for our little surprise on the morning of her post mortem. Bittersweet 💓

I’m trying so hard not to jump full onto proper TTC craziness now I’ve had the negative test etc. I’ll also need to keep measured expectations for this month and when to expect my period back. I’m hoping that because the loss was so early things should go back to normal fairly quickly - which in my case is around a 31 day-ish cycle (from when I was TTC my second). Currently on CD20, so realistically should hold out until 7th April to test, but I know I’ll be testing sooner on the off chance I ovulated on CD14 🙄…

My last day of having sex was on the 28th of December. January my period came normal for 7days. February I missed my period and tested positive on the 2nd of March
On the 8th of March period came i am confused
