I'm in Exeter (Devon) but there don't seem to be too many of us SW Mumsnetters - correct me if I'm wrong!

Twiga · 22/11/2004 15:17

Looks good, I'd have to sort out shifts and stuff, but hopefully would make it.

Becki, Mum and Dad live in Leighton Buzzard (noone ever seems to know where that is so Luton is easiest)it's half hour out from Lutojn, Dunstable is nice town, have family in Milton Keynes and High Wycombe too. Are your family still living in that direction? My dad was in the RAF so have moved a lot - they moved to LB while I was up here in Uni, so never really lived there.

ernest · 24/11/2004 17:24

jeddah · 24/11/2004 18:04

count me in - I live in staffordshire

jeddah · 27/11/2004 12:15

well girls bit of bad news!!

I just rang Thorsbay Hall and they say it is going to be £120 each for 1 night!!!! I was a bit cheesed off because I had been quoted much cheaper than this, but they are now saying that they have reviewed their 2005 prices!!!

So I think this is a bit pricey for the meet up (what do you all think?) so.........has anyone got any ideas...as it would still be great to have a 'meet'???????

marinda · 27/11/2004 21:25

Yes too pricey, the swallow hotels are nice - facilities include jacuzzi and pool, they may have special offers for group booking - i will try and get some info on availability and prices tra

Is there nowhere with just some form of Spa that you can use on a daily basis. For example we have a Spa near here where it is just £15 for a 3 hour Spa session - 3 heat rooms, 2 cold rooms, a warm room and a relaxing room. This type of thing maybe. Then we could have a meal afterwards nearby - or something?

Surely there is something similar in a mre central location?

Hulababy · 29/11/2004 08:49

Maybe something like this Eden Hall in Nottinghamshire :

This Day Experience is wonderful on its own or as a basis of our other Day Experiences. It includes full use of the salt-water vitality swimming pool, sauna, saunarium, steam, herbal and hot rooms. Specialist showers, water therapy area, gymnasium, exercise and relaxation classes. Hulababy · 29/11/2004 21:00

Price is based on two sharing twin rooms -so so long as people don't mind that t does seem good value.

In new year, think there are a couple of dates I can't do in Feb, but that's it.

kizzy212 · 30/11/2004 21:54

im here in west midlands.

any one heard of merry hill shopping centre!!!!

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 21:56

meery hill, is that the one nr redittch/bromsgrove way? (about 15-20 min drive) all under a roof?? (big centre)

kizzy212 · 30/11/2004 22:00

yes thats the one. nearer to stourbridge than bromsgrove. but if coming on motorway then yes bromsgrove exit!!!

m5 jct 4 bromsgrove- for merry hill

munnzieb · 30/11/2004 22:02

yes i've been there, best bud is from reditch, south crest area. nice shopping centre, but i didn't think there was that much parking space, (might be cos we didn't get there till about 12 thou!)

kizzy212 · 30/11/2004 22:08

YOUR RIGHT. ESPICALLY AT THIS TIME OF YEAR. I LIVE TWO MINS WALK AWAY AND THE ROADS AND TRAFFIC IS REALLY BAD NOW. PARKING IS GOOD IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO PARK AS IN THE QUIET AREAS. BUT THEN AGAIN ITS IF YOUR LUCKY.
