Clear blue weeks indicator (I need to put the tests down..)

Hi all,

I got my BFP yesterday. I’m really happy 😊 (but worrying already).

I don’t have a last period date to go by because I came off the pill 5 or 6 weeks (ish) ago and didn’t have a period or withdrawal bleed. According to when I DTD, I’m either just over 3 weeks, just over 4 weeks or about 5 weeks pregnant. I got two positives yesterday, one mid morning and one in the evening. They weren’t faint lines so I assumed I must be just over 4 weeks. Then I did a clear blue weeks indicator this morning (FMU) and it said only 1-2 weeks. That suggests I’m only just over 3 weeks. I don’t know what I’m worried about exactly but it seems like the tests don’t ‘match up’ (clear blue suggests less pregnant than the others??). Or perhaps I’m wrong about how strong I thought the first two tests were. I’m an anxious worrier and I think that extra testing is just going to cause nothing but worry and I should stop and relax and unless there are signs something is wrong, all is probably fine. But you know what it’s like once that niggle is in your head… anyway, I wondered what peoples experiences are with clear blue weeks? How accurate? Thanks everyone.

Weeks indicator means absolutely nothing to be honest with you. I'd be very happy with those lines considering you could have ovulated at any time!

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yeah I do think that those tests may just be a bit of a scam to be honest that doesn’t do much besides feed peoples worry to be honest! Good to hear it from someone else. And thank you - I am really pleased and also very surprised!

Weeks indicator count the time of conception to now. Because most women won't know how to count the weeks correctly (as in first day of last cycle to now). Therefore if the test states 1-2 weeks, that would mean you're anywhere between 4-5 weeks actually, depending on your cycle length. I hope that helps a bit. And congrats, by the way :)

Thank you for the congrats! 1-2 weeks on clear blue indicator means 3-4 by ‘normal’ measurements (because it allows for two weeks from first day of last period until ovulation). However I’m really just trying not to worry about it (it’s so hard but I’m trying!).

I understand how you're feeling. We had two early miscarriages last year (Sep and Nov). We got a bfp last Thursday (17th March) which was two days before my period was due on 19th. Then on the day my period was due I woke up to find a small amount of dark reddish blood on my pyjamas. After that I just had some very light brown spotting for a day or two. Nothing since but because of that I've been retesting which has only ended up making me more anxious. A couple of reasonably dark lines were reassuring but on one test the line was barely visible and clear blue weeks indicator said 1-2 weeks when it should have been 2-3 from my dates (last period began 20/02). One of the reasonably dark lines was after that so I don't think they're getting fainter - they've just been a bit of a mixture but possibly due to dilution of wee etc. I'm hoping the weeks indicator was out because I was silly and tested early afternoon rather than first wee of days as they advise. Anyway because of mixture of tests I can't stop worrying. I've convinced the GP surgery to do some bloods to check hcg levels and I'm so anxious about getting the results early next week. Because of our previous miscarriages I'm convinced we're going to get bad news which I know is a bit irrational
