Any success stories after 18 months?

I would really appreciate hearing some experiences about the chances of conceiving without intervention after trying for 18 months plus. DH and I have been TTC for going on 19 months now without even a hint of a positive. I don't smoke, not overweight, eat a good diet and drink in moderation. I've had all the tests at the GP (and so has DH) and am waiting for the referral to the fertility clinic to go through, and we're looking at getting a private scan done while we're waiting. But at this point it's starting to feel so pointless to even keep trying in the meantime - if we had any chance at conceiving naturally surely it would have happened by now? I know all the statistics and that about 50% of couples who failed to conceive in the first year will conceive in the second, but I'm so tired of the emotional roller coaster and inevitable disappointment every month. Does anyone have some success stories to give me hope, or failing that some positive stories of conceiving after intervention?
