TTC- Mystery Blood and Transvaginal Ultrasound Results

Background: This is cycle 11 of TTC (12 months). I typically have regular, but slightly longer cycles (33-35 days). I have used LH test strips for 8 months. I always get a peak and plan sex accordingly. This month I start BBT tracking and noticed that my temp didn't peak when I had an LH surge. I scheduled a doctor appointment. I did eventually have my body temp go up, indicated that I potentially ovulated on day 30.

Today is CD 43 ! 12-13 DPO. Longest cycle I have ever had since coming off birth control 1 year ago. No signs of AF and I have two BFN recently.

Doctor's appointment produced results of:
-VERY high progesterone (54) which would be high even in the first trimester of pregnancy
-HCG negative (not preggo)
-thyroid normal (0.74)
-ultrasound showed uterine lining of 5mm
-ultrasound showed a sac in my uterus. Just a small black sac. I saw it! Doc said it does not mean pregnancy since my HCG was negative but didn't really have an explanation

Doc said next step is the HSG test. I do NOT want to do it. I am so afraid of the pain!

What the heck is going on?!
