Can you have morning sickness before BFP?

Hi,

Is it possible to have morning sickness before BFP? I'm 9 DPO and I've thrown up this morning (at around 6am).

Was just wondering if anyones experienced something similar?

Thanks x

I did. And my sense of smell changed - a candle I'd bought (and loved the smell of) ended up in the bin before my bfp as it smelled so awful.

I doubt it’s the pregnancy making you sick - it could be psychosomatic. If the hcg levels aren’t high enough to give you a bfp then they’re probably not high enough to create the hormone changes that cause NVP.

Yes I did, on a train. I knew it was hormonal as I drank a can of coke and it went away

I don't know if the HCG levels are high enough because I haven't tested yet. I'm waiting for as long as I can.

Anyone else?

Probably not tbh as HCG wouldn’t be high enough unless you ovulated early.

I didn't have sickness but I had nausea for 3 days straight then didn't get it again until 6 weeks. I also had bad headaches and hot sweats. I got my bfp at 10dpo Baby dust to you ✨️😊

Yes... when I had twins !!

EezyOozy · 25/02/2022 16:08

Yes I did , both times.

EezyOozy · 25/02/2022 16:10

With my first, when I was just pregnant, I had some unseen cravings for orange juice, I got an early detection test and there was a very faint line… I knew I was pregnant with the second when I was walking along the street had a sudden, urgent need for a pint of orange juice!

Waddlegoose · 25/02/2022 16:11

Yes as I suffered with HG. I was in hospital having fluids and anti sickness meds at 3wks+6. I did get a positive test a few days before and I was sick a few days before that. I have had three pregnancies and knew I was pregnant before the test due to the sickness. Most definitely possible

Flowers12345 · 25/02/2022 16:13

Yes, I had a was quite sickly for the week before I tested postive. Testing negative twice in that week 😊 good luck!

Hmum0three · 25/02/2022 16:17

No but the only reason I took a test is because I was eating a lot of chocolate and my period wasn't due for a week so I definitely believe your body starts to change once it has implanted!

SareBear87 · 28/02/2022 15:17

Yes but it had nowt to do with hcg and everything to do with progesterone. Mine shoots through the roof and makes me feel sick, sore boobs, etc.
So I've always known the result before I've tested - which is a mixed blessing!

SamuraiPizzaCats · 28/02/2022 17:37

Yes I did too. Must have been as soon as it implanted. Awful metal taste in my mouth too. Didn't get a positive test for another 10 days!!! It's crazy but my dates line up exactly.

alis20 · 13/02/2024 20:51

I did. It's how I knew I was preg. Tested at 4w +2d and had nausea for about a week prior. I never believed it and people say its not possible. It is and I've gone onto have hyperemisis gravadium

Cinai · 13/02/2024 20:57

I had a short but intense bout of sickness and food aversion at 3 weeks + 4 days, faint positive on my test the same evening. But I knew that I had ovulated early.
