Positive tests and then period, have I had a chemical pregnancy?

I have been trying to conceive for a few months now and this month I got a faint positive line (but definitely there) on a pregnancy test the day before my missed period. I was sooo excited all day and couldn't wait to test again this morning which is the day my period is due. The line was probably a tiny bit fainter today but still there. A couple of hours ago I started getting brown blood when I wiped which has now progressed to fresher heavier blood and cramps, so I think my period is definitely here.

Have I had a chemical pregnancy?

It sounds like it but test again when you stop bleeding just in case. Sorry if it turns out to be a chemical :(

Test in the morning- but most likely yes, I am sorry. Flowers

It doesn’t make it any better (it’s complete shit and a disappointing) but take some comfort in the fact this has been happening to millions of women monthly before the advent of super sensitive pregnancy tests and the language of DPO which gets people testing early.

I have had chemical pregnancies and I only test if period is late now.

Thankyou for your replies! Yes @Suprima I'm going to try and have this mindset going forward and will try my best (although it's sooo tempting 🙈) to hold off testing again in the next cycles until period is late.

Super gutted and keep looking at the lines on the tests. I need to put them away and not look at them as driving myself mad!

Once your period has come is it not then a chemical is it counted as a miscarriage? Genuine question as I'm. It too sure what counts as a chemical. So sorry you've been through this x

@Diamondbabe A chemical pregnancy is a miscarriage before 5 weeks as far as I know.
