How long after stopping the pill did you get a proper period

Just that really, been on the pill for around 8 years, and honestly can't remember how long it took last time i came off.

I've been off 5 weeks and nothing at all. I usually spot after 2 or 3 missed pills and I haven't even had that this time!

I had a withdrawal bleed after a few days and then my first natural period has finally arrived 5 weeks later

Both times were to conceive, the first time I didn't as conceived super quick

Second time I would say month 2, the first one was more like spotting / very light

Withdrawal bleed 3 days after stopping, then 33 days from stopping a real period and then straight onto 28 day cycles after that.

Thank you for the replies, had a breakthrough bleed 5 days after my last pill, just playing the waiting game now and trying not to wind myself up too much. I'm not very patient i'm afraid.

I’d recommend the cheapie internet ovulation kits to help figure it out. My first cycle that helped me see what was happening. I think I had 3 weeks before ovulation then 10 days before AF, which surprisingly held right to conception 2 months later. It’s amazing how quickly bodies can bounce back after years on the pill, but the ovulation kits helped me “see” what my body was doing and removed some stress/frustration. I expected 3 months but it took 3 weeks to go back to normal. I will say my first bleed at 5 weeks was incredibly light which was unexpected/only lasted 2.5 days, got more normal in subsequent cycles though

I've been off the pill 6 weeks today and no withdrawal bleed/spotting/AF.... getting frustrated now!
