Fertility since I've finished breastfeeding

Hi all, I wondered if anyone could help. I stopped EBF my 7 month old about a month ago. I got my first period since birth about 3 weeks prior to finishing BF completely ( I had wound things down a lot, hence the return of period) I am ttc #2.

I ovulated just before my period returned - which seemed to me that I had a 4 or 5 day luteal phase... not great. Anyhow I then ovulated on day cd22 (well positive clearblue opk). I am now cd31 and no sign of period! I have tested for pregnancy and all as negative as can be!

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on? Or any experience of breastfeeding and fertility returning. Desperately wanting to conceive #2!

It's normal to have short cycles first when you first stop breastfeeding. Will probably even out over the next few months.

Are you TTC while your baby is only 7 months? I only ask as I think the NHS has pretty strong guidance against TTC within a year of being pregnant, to reduce health risks for both you and baby.

Agree with this.

Also very normal for periods to be a bit all over the place after pregnancy alone never mind breastfeeding.

Doing once a day prior to that, baby is 8 months old now! I've not had a period return yet, but have been getting spotting once every couple of weeks! Did you get any spotting when you stopped? Xxx
