Any positive stories following post-pill no period?

Stopped taking the pill in October, currently approx CD105 with no period... Really taking its toll now, constantly worrying and it's all I can think about waiting for it to come to start TTC properly!
I'd love to hear some positive stories of others who have been in a similar situation especially who've had a BFP as well

Me! Well, no BFP but I’ve not been trying. I came off the pill in March, had one normal period then none until December.

I started taking inositol and I’ve had a 38 day cycle and a 32 day cycle. I’d really recommend it.

Start tracking your ovulation ☺️ I didn't have a period and I am now 16+2 with #2

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/02/2022 09:09

Sorry no, led into a PCOS diagnosis, cycles 49-149 days and 2 years into TTC!

Bundaberg84 · 07/02/2022 09:25

When I went off the pill, I got a kinda-normal cycle, followed by more than 3 months of nothing. You'll get there!

magnoliasinbloom · 07/02/2022 10:08

It took me 5 months to get my first period post-pill and I was also diagnosed with PCOS. As it's been over 3 months I'd push your GP for blood tests and an ultrasound to rule out PCOS :)

Variouscricket29 · 07/02/2022 14:03

Thanks, I did contact the GP at 3 months who said I need to wait until 6 months which seems like such a long time to wait. I just have this feeling it's not going to happen (sounds silly I know) which makes it all the more difficult to wait. Fingers crossed I am wrong though...

It takes time to get your period back after the pill but almost 4 months it's too much. Ask your GP for bloods maybe you've developed a pcos.

magnoliasinbloom · 07/02/2022 16:56

@Variouscricket29 I'd try again or if you have the means try going private for the tests and scan (some clinics will have a 'fertility checkup' type package that includes bloods and ultrasound for a discounted rate. If a condition comes up that impacts fertility your GP can refer you to a NHS fertility clinic early, rather than you having to wait for a year.

Greenhippoblue · 07/02/2022 17:42

Positive story here - stopped taking pill in the October, no period til April, had a referral to fertility clinic come through at the start of May...on the same day I got my bfp :)

Nyxxie · 07/02/2022 20:58

Following for the positive stories..

It hasn't been as long for me yet - came off pill in Dec, had withdrawal bleed and nothing since. Keep getting cramps but no AF, and already getting impatient!

Mumofone4 · 08/02/2022 12:06

Following!

I had my last depo injection in August so should have run out so to speak in November. I had a very light but very dark brown bleed (Sorry TMI) over the weekend but only lasted 3 days max. Not sure whether to count that as a period or not. Time will tell I suppose!

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 08/02/2022 19:03

I came off the pill July, and my period didn’t come back until October and are now regular (well, last 2 have been, first one was 40 days) No BFP yet, but I’m working on it!

Variouscricket29 · 08/02/2022 19:28

Thanks everyone for your replies - it's nice to know people have had positive stories but also just that it isn't just me! TTC can feel a bit lonely especially as I haven't wanted to tell friends/family so it's nice to hear from people x

Came off the pill in January 2021 and have only had one period since then (July 2021). I then had tests done and was found to have PCO. It’s worth hassling your doctor has it’s taken me lots of back and forth!

Plantymcplant · 07/08/2022 18:05

Hi! I am 8 weeks post pill and no period or positive ovulation test. I hadn't realised this was a thing. I'm so disappointed but glad I found all these posts! What tests did you all ask for at the gp?

Variouscricket29 · 07/08/2022 20:30

@Plantymcplant sorry you're going through this too. 8 weeks seems like a long time but it can be 'normal' to take up to three months for a period, so my GP wouldn't do anything until 6 months of nothing. It will vary from GP to GP though how soon they'll do anything. They will have a set of bloods they can do and may ask for an ultrasound but again this can vary. Unless these things find any issues there isn't an awful lot the GP can actually do. Worth asking though as it can be reassuring to have normal bloods/if any issues they can be sorted sooner

@Variouscricket29 Thank you that really helps

@J91x microgynon

Plantymcplant · 08/08/2022 12:21

@Variouscricket29 If you don't mind me asking did your periods return in the end? Did it take much longer than the 6 months?

Variouscricket29 · 08/08/2022 18:04

@Plantymcplant after 6 months I had some spotting and now (about 10 months) I am having semi regular vvv light bleeds - I'm not convinced I'm ovulating though and me and the GP aren't counting it as true periods. So I don't feel much better about it all tbh. But from what I can tell 8 weeks is by no means particularly abnormal so try not to worry too much (easier said than done for sure)

Plantymcplant · 09/08/2022 14:00

@Variouscricket29 Thank you! I'm sorry yours haven't returned in full. I will keep my fingers crossed for you

Plantymcplant · 12/08/2022 09:28

I have had about 12 hours of spotting yesterday but it's stopped now. I don't know if I can count that as my first period or not but it's a start at least there's something. It's a strange time
